• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Today's Smoke- 1/15/08

The cohiba maduros are the cigar I find most in need of aging. I wasn't impressed early on but the original boxes are becoming very good.

    Vacuum Packing your smokes

Not really completely the same but would be quite similar to aging in tubes. One expert Min Ron Nee claims that while it does slow down the aging process in the end the result will be a more complex cigar. Unfortunately his terms of aging are different then most and for the first 10 to 15 years...

Any new info yet on the SCHIP tax vote?

I just paid the taxes like a good citizen. It brings the prices of the sticks up to where they would be here normally and I get to try some stuff I wouldn't normally be able to find here.

Any new info yet on the SCHIP tax vote?

I figured I would post this to show how bad things can get. I did a trade here and forgot to mention not to put cigars on the customs declaration. My fault but here is what the delivery ticket looked like. Keep in mind this was for 15 cigars listed as a gift...

Any new info yet on the SCHIP tax vote?

I quit cigarettes 10 years ago and had to give up cigars for 3 to do it. I know how hard it is but also understand that the reason behind all of it is cigarettes. I doubt that the increases in taxes will do much to stop people from smoking cigarettes but it will do a lot of damage to the cigar...

Any new info yet on the SCHIP tax vote?

Thanks for that. I know I am not even living in the right country for it to affect me to much but I buy a lot in the US. I looks like the emphasis for the hikes is in the right spot cigarettes.

Any new info yet on the SCHIP tax vote?

Cigar Insider out today said tax is to be capped at $.40 a stick which is quite reasonable. At least compared to our cap of $10. Enough that they can raise some money without destroying the industry.

    The Official Cigar Deals Thread

I have one and travel humi it is not. The real use for the bag I haven't figured out yet but it is nice. Just has no way of maintaining humidity and for anything other the the factory smoke they will move alot.

What do you do with all the fake Cuban cigars you get?

I have a friend who always has a box of fake cohibas in his cabinet. He says everytime he gave a cigar to a sorta smoker they would smoke a half inch and turf it. Now he let's them pick and the fakes always go first.

Hi Temps Of Below Zero Next Five Days

We just got out of a minus 10 to 20 and today have a high of 35 its great. This time last year we were hit with a week of minus 60 so we know better then to complain about the weather. It can always get worse.

Those are very nice. If you are trading those for smokes the cabinet you are making for yourself had better be big.

Por Larranaga Belicoso Extra Asia Pacific Release 2008

It's funny because I think most of this is all retailers. Here Regionals are only about 10% over other prices of a similar other cigar. And the LCDH are the same as other compareable cigars. Will say that the EL are overpriced. I have issuses with PSD5 being 20% over PSD4.

    1st Box or maybe two

I will warn you though that Canada has some of the most repressive tobacco taxes in the world rivaled only by the UK. Whatever prices you have seen on the net expect to triple it. Ontario's taxes don't have a cap so you can see as high as $90 cigars. Here in Alberta though we are capped at...
