• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Can I sleep at your house tonight?

Yup, especially if you can put some away to age. I also like JR's Genuine Counterfeit Cuban Pre-Embargo 1958 Edicion Limitadas (made by Perdomo) at about $2 a stick, but they only come in boxes of 50. One of my favorite el cheapos is Holt's Herfdogs, which are a real favorite in Holt's smoking...

    Tatuaje Havana VI Vicotiras

Never had a problem with a Tat VI, but I don't smoke narrow ring gauge cigars. They are notoriously hard to roll and the good ones usually feel under-filled to the touch in order to avoid the kind of draw problems you experienced. Try another one or two. If they're all too tight, try an Oliva...

Review: Perdomo Thundra Torch Lighter by Vector

Yup. My only criticism of it, which applies to all triple-flame lighters, is that touching up the burn ain't easy, what with all that intense fire shooting out. :assaultri

I just bid on some Astral Candelas... should I not have?

Fuente definitely makes the best candelas, but the Astrals should be decent, especially if they have some age on them.

    De La Concha

Their house brand is definitely a well-kept secret. Always worth buying, which I do whenever I'm there. For some reason, I have never gotten around to buying them over web/mail-order, though... :dunno:

    Nub

That's probably a good thing. I think there was so much hype about these that some people naturally went into them with unrealistically high expectations.

    Nub

The Habano is definitely the pick of the litter.

    Best Pepin House Brand?

Holt's Connoisseur, especially at about $5 a pop! :santa:

    Anyone Smoked A Nub Yet?

EVERYone (including me) likes the Habano wrapper best. Generally, they have gotten excellent reviews.

    Does your wife know....?

She doesn't know, and she wouldn't care. Same goes for me regarding her wardrobe and accessories.

    A Gift from Gurkha

I filled out the info form. Left the comments blank. Let's see what happens...

    Graycliff Espresso

You can often find Graycliffs on cbid, to try to keep the cost down.

    Interesting Cutter

I'd buy both of those. If they cost 1/10 of their price. :smokingbo

    Holts Connoisseur Selection

I smoke the torpedos, and it's one of my regular smokes these days. :blushlove

    New Orleans, End of March

Looks like you are in for some great weather: 70's to low 80's and not too much likelihood of rain. Bon voyage et laissez les bontemps roulez! :waving:

    "Cigar Manager"

I just keep an alphabetical list with comments in the Memo section of my Palm. There is a limit to file size per Memo, so I have them broken into separate Memos by the first letter of the cigar brand name.

    Probably a good idea. :smokingme

    Spilled Beads

Yeah. For us cigar smokers, I think humidifier beads are the equivalent of Christmas tree tinsel and plastic Easter basket grass. That stuff just seems to breed spontaneously. Just when you think you finally got the last piece cleaned up... :lookaroun

    Spilled Beads

Thanks, guys. I thought about rinsing them in distilled water. That would get rid of the dust. The problem is finding a screen that has the right size openings to hold the beads but not the crud. I might try some window screening. Pantyhose would let out the dust, but not the bigger pieces...

    Spilled Beads

The other day I was checking on my coolerdors. I keep my humidifier beads in plastic cups and accidentally knocked one of the plastic cups over. :angryteet Of course, the coolerdors are in my unfinished basement, so when I swept up the beads (swearing quietly the whole time), I also swept up...
