• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Serious question to ask

Regardless of how well you describe products, some folks just don't have the patience or take the time to read the product descriptions. I usually don;t try to judge people based on my first interaction with them. You don't kow whether he was having a bad day, etc. I don't agree with the...

    Employer won't hire smokers...and it's legal

Ha, I was just in their buidling a few weeks ago. From perusing their cafeteria at lunch time, they had very healthy lunch offerings I must say. Their smoking cessation programs were advertised all over the lunch area. For a insurer, it's no surprise they don't want to spend millions on...

    Top Gear?

I used to watch Top Gear but the show kinda got boring after a while. Took it off my Season Pass finally.

    Partagas Question

From my personal experiences smoking out of Varnished and Unvarnished boxes from the same year, the blends were indeed different. The 898V was meatier and spicier whereas the Unvarnished was lighter and much more mellower. This just reminded I've got a box of '70s 898UV stashed somewhere in...

    Ribs....

I've got a big gas Weber Stainless with built-in smoker box, an electric smoker and a Big Green Egg (yeah, I'm serious about my BBQ) and I find I'm starting to take the easy way out. I'm using the gas grill a lot and it's not such a bad product. The Big Green Egg is still the way to go...

Taste Test #4 PLPC JUL 02

Ah, finally saw the '02 date. Major disappointment for a 7yr old PLPC barring my taste buds being botched from the sinus infection.

I'm curious, why the cajon of 500? I had a similar idea of creating a cedar box of 100 for long term storage >1yr

Taste Test #4 PLPC JUL 02

OMG, '04 PLPC's specifically KMM NOV04 are like candy canes. I'm honestly shocked this was a PLPC. My taste buds must have been way off or I got the stick closest to El Dentes nasty wet foam packaging. If this was a PLPC from '04, then something was definitely wrong with my taste buds. I...

    Anyone around Washington D.C.??

Shelly's at 13th and F. It's the only cigar bar (grandfathered) in DC that serves alcohol. Besides it's only 3 metro stops away at Metro Center. It's plenty laid back but it can get crowded in the evenings since it's the only place you can smoke indoors. Forget Friday's around happy hour.

Taste Test #3 SLR PC AEP JUL 06

ARRRRGHHHHH!!! I had Cohiba and SLR originally and then changed it to ERdM and Veguero. I should have stuck with my original guess.

    nobody likes em?

#2 and #4's are very good cigars in my honest opinion. Their flavor profile, as well as QdO's, are quite different from what I normally smoke so these become nice change of pace cigars.

No more aging cigars for me

You also need to take into consideration the cost factor associated with buying aged stuff. For the most part, buying 10yr old sticks comes with a premium. I know it's different in Canada but vendors in Switzerland and London have taken to adding 10-15% mark-ups on boxes each year they age. Look...
