• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Blind Taste Test Cigar #1-

I knew the lot of you guys were going to throw in some interesting cigars and usual suspects so I figured I'd try and throw in a monkey wrench of sorts with a well aged MM. I'm glad to see the disparate reviews and guesses. Hot Sauce, I'm glad you enjoyed the smoke. Tis true unfortunately, no...

    Blind Taste Test Cigar #1-

Interesting reviews guys...these were indeed the PL Lolas en Cedro from '01 that were discontinued in '02. These were from a full box and stored in their original cedar sheets and cello. Looking forward to the next set of reviews.

    The gift of all gifts

These are great marevas...it's amazing how the meaty flavors evolve over such a short cigar. I say smoke it now for you never know what tomorrow will bring. And yes, once you smoke it, you WILL want more.

    Ramon Allones Phoenicio RE

The Phoenicio isn't a bad cigar but IMO certainly not worth the $25 price point. Keep in mind value is relative to many different folks. Time will only tell whether these will get better. Certainly they will lose the youth they exhibited when these first came out. The RA Benelux is somewhat...

    F1

I've been to Montreal (too many times to count), Indy and Monaco. Indy sucked but Monaco was simply fantastic. Truly a playground for the rich and famous and the women on race weekend :inlove: My girlfriend at the time suddenly understood the attraction to F1 :bouncetau Now in the olden days...

    F1

Ah the sound of an F1 engine....something to truly be heard live at the track. With earplugs of course. I too am a McLaren fan but BMW Sauber, Renault and Toyota could be a challenge this year. Good luck to Bourdais and Vettel this year.

    Too much humidity in tupper-dor?

All good points so far. As the last poster pointed out, tupperdors create an airtight seal and do not make for an ideal long term storage device. RH will begin to climb as the gel releases moisture. The gel is a passive device and will not regulate humidity in an active manner such as "real"...

    The Castro Dipolmatic Gift

This is correct....Fidel smoked primarily Cohiba's ergo, he gifted Cohiba's as gifts. Other Cuban officials gave out Trinidad's as diplomatic gifts both in humidors, boxes and singles. A family member of mine some years ago was given a few Trinidad's as diplomatic gifts. Alas, I smoked them a...

Choose what I smoke for my Birthday!

For you, I say enjoy the Cohiba goodness from the Sig IV. For your buddies, it depends on how seasoned a smoker they are. If more than an occasional smokers, then no worries....the Parti Lusi. If only occasional, then a lighter cigar might be in order such as the Sancho Panza Corona. Happy...

    Fonseca Cosacos...YUK!

Cosacos=cuban hay At least that's what I think of them. And age doesn't help...the '96 Cosacos I had tasted like old grass clippings mixed with hay. Maybe they provide it wrapped in tissue so that you can wipe your tongue after smoking one. Not my cup of tea....more for you guys!

    a sad sad day

Tastes change, your mood is off since the last time you tried one, taste buds get burned out, the drink you pair the cigar with overpowers the cigar, etc, etc. Many things contribute itself to enjoying a particular cigar one day and not the next. "Variety is the spice of life"

    Cigars and Seattle

Smokey Joe's in Fife is your best bet near Seattle. It's a bit of a drive tho. It too is located in an Indian casino.

    Shock and Awe

I think it's great your dad gave you these sticks. In college my Dad did the same with Cohiba Robustos, Lanceros and Esplendidos. I was thrilled! But I happen to agree with Greg....the box stamp does look a little suspect. And I'm not 100% sure about the warranty sticker although it's hard...

    My apologies

They're a good little cigar...meatier than the normal #4. The extra age seems to help marry the flavors a bit and they're more fuller bodied than the regular production. Clearly a better class of tobacco went into these. Are they're worth the price? Too subjective a question that only you can...

What do you think of this supposed 40yr old Cuban???

Nope, just saying from the pics there are too many variables such as lighting, pic quality, flash, etc. Either way, it's not conclusive from that pic. Carry on....

What do you think of this supposed 40yr old Cuban???

I'm not sure why you guys are so quick to label the cigar fake just from those pics. The band does not appear to me to be a conclusive fake either. What everyone will agree on is that it's definitely in bad shape.
