• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Need some help!

Been going back and forth in my choice between the HCM and HF beads. Leaning towards the HF beads now because more people seem to have experience with them, and they now come in a case that can fit where my humistat used to be on the lid. Unfortunately, they're out of stock at the moment...

    Need some help!

Re-calibrated the Caliber III hygrometer this past week. Dead on. I'm using the 70% crystals now until the beads I want are in stock, but what's nice is that at the low temp in my basement, the 70% crystals get my actual RH in the tupperware to about 63-65%.

    Need some help!

Well, maybe this hasn't happened to many people as evidenced by minimal response to my request for help. I'll share what I did, and hopefully I can comment months down the road that it worked, and my new humidor is fine. I removed the cigars, and placed them in sealed tupperware-type...

    Need some help!

Using several hygros, but I know my caliber III is good. House is dry, and humidity almost always below 70... the spores were on the lid behind the humistat. I am very concerned that my humi is toast. And I was just getting ready to transition to HF or HCM beads.

    Need some help!

I have a newer Don Salvatore 100-cigar humidor with windows (less than two months old). To keep the temps down, I have it setup in my basement, where it holds around 66F. The humidity has a tougher time staying up down there, so I fluctuate between using 3-4 small Xikar crystal jars, and when...

    Big Butt Cigar Co.

That's funny. I haven't had one since college either. Used to order from some shop down in Louisiana over the Internet.

    Big Butt Cigar Co.

Does anyone remember Big Butt cigars? I used to order the Gordito (4-3/4 X 54) back in the mid-90's. Apparently it was a Nicaraguan, and sometime in the late-90's it was sold to another tobacco company, possibly Altadis. I was never able to determine if the blend changed when that happened...

    Smoking jackets: In or out?

I wear a corduroy jacket when it's cold out and I'm having a cigar. Guess I do it so that only one jacket smells of smoke rather than all of them. I suppose I consider it my "smoking jacket" now. It does have lots of big pockets, which certainly come in handy.

    Olivia

Agreed. MB3 is awesome, and the Serie V Double Robusto is fantastic AND well-priced. Serie O is one of my regular, everyday smokes. Also, Oliva's Cain Habano is very good too (regular size or NUB).

    Liga Privada T52 Flying Pig

Was just gifted this stick, and certainly looking forward to it based on a couple of short reviews I found. Anyone have any comments about the T52 Flying Pig?

    Which Tatuaje?

Just smoked a Tat 7th Reserve, and this stick was soooo tight. It was absolutely miserable. This was my second Tatuaje, the first being the Havana VI, which was great. I hope it was just a problem stick, but this tight 7th Reserve was awful. Anyone else have one like that?

    Shilala Bead Group Buy

This is awesome! Thanks guys! I recognize that the HCM beads are harder to setup. If anyone has advice on doing this process correctly and efficiently, that would be a great supplement to Justin's original post. I think I'm leaning towards the Shilala beads now.

    Shilala Bead Group Buy

Like others here, I also want to make the switch from the crystals/pg solution, but I'm still not convinced which is most practical. If there isn't a poll already, maybe I need to make one to see what people are most happy with between HCM/Shilala beads and Heartfelt beads. Can anyone identify...
