• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Which Tatuaje?

Good information - thanks for taking the time to share.

Transition to different humidor (mushy cigars?)

Put two in my travel humi for a day, and smoked them with a friend yesterday evening. They were a tad squishy, but both smoked and tasted just fine. They lit up without problem, maintained a great burn line, and had no issues with draw or needs for re-light. Beats the heck out of me! I still...

    Which Tatuaje?

Had the Havana VI Noble last night (Reserva is still sitting in the humidor). The Havana was very good!

Transition to different humidor (mushy cigars?)

Interesting points. Both hygros are differently branded, and have had batteries replaced at different times, but I will certainly put new cells in and recalibrate. It's just odd because everything was fine until I merged them. I do currently use Xikar crystals with the PG solution, and hadn't...

Transition to different humidor (mushy cigars?)

Hygrometers (digital) were calibrated maybe just outside of six months ago. One of them is the Calliber III. The smaller humidor (that the 20 sticks came from) was at the same temperature as the larger one. The sticks felt pretty normal before the switch. I'm definitely confused with this one..

Thanks, that helps a bit. I think the more information we have, the better.

C'mon - nobody knows? I'm thrilled to see support for cigars, but I would like to know whether or not the proceeds and efforts are also helping the cigarette industry. I can't find anything on the web that confirms or denies this.

Transition to different humidor (mushy cigars?)

Okay, so I had about 55-60 cigars in a humidor that holds 75-100. I received 20 sticks about two months ago, which went into a separate humidor to level out since I wasn't sure what condition they had been in before arriving on my doorstep. After I was comfortable that they were in good shape...

Okay, rookie question here, so apologize if this has been addressed elsewhere. Cigar Rights of America. By joining this movement, are cigar smokers also fighting for the rights of cigarette smokers?

    Binny's

Eddie Rivera is the tobacconist at the Binny's in Schaumburg. That location's humidor seems to be kept in good shape with new stuff coming in with some regularity. I don't get out that way very much, but when I do, I know he's going to have a decent selection. He always seems to know what's...

Band ON or OFF??? That is the question

    What he said.

    Bands (updated)

Thanks. I used photo-grade glue stick. The first time I did it, I used a regular Elmer's glue stick, and some of the label edges have since popped up (nothing that can't be fixed). Using a higher quality glue, and making sure to apply the glue to the entire backside of the label helps. I...

    Which Tatuaje?

Picked up a Tatuaje 7th Reserva (Corona Gorda, 5.625" x 46, I believe). Not planning to smoke it just yet, but wondering if I should have pursued the 7th Natural instead...

    Today's Smoke (2004-2022 Archive)

Chillin' at Cigars & More (Libertyville, IL) with a light roast coffee and an Illusione MJ12. Very nice. First MJ12 I've tried.

    Which Tatuaje?

Thanks! Had the Cabaiguan a few times and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was sold to me as the closest I could get to a CC. I'm undecided as to whether or not that's true.

    Which Tatuaje?

Okay, so I've looked at the reference guide about Tatuaje cigars and Pete Johnson. Believe it or not, I've not tried one yet. I had an opportunity to select between two recently in a local B&M. The brown label was recommended, however the ring gauge was too small for my taste (I prefer no...
