• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    sand on the leaf

This happens quite a bit. I try to unwrinkle all my leaf, you'll be surprised how much you find in those kinked and dry leaf parts. The worst offender I found was Brazilian Mata Fina, but the leaf itself was so good, I ordered more. It's no longer available to us as filler and I haven't tried...

I couldnt identify specifics but it had some spice without pepper. It was only 5 days old but wasn't harsh so I'm thinking it will turn out smooth with a bit more time. Definitely not a pepper bomb. I have been enjoying blends with corojo seco and viso and various ligeros, so this was a change...

Trying a new blend, seems ok after about 5 days. 1 Piloto Cubano Seco 1 Brazilian Habano Viso 1 Piloto Cubano Ligero Wrapped in Ecuador Seco I think it'll be a good blend with a bit more time in the box.

    I don't usually do this.....

O Of course I don't know the details, but a $2 per hour cut would be $4000 for the year, or $2000 for 6 months. How much is that first raise? $2/hr? Is it worth the cut for 6 months followed by a better opportunity for the rest of your career? I took a tough cut in 2006 for a better/stable...

    creating a smooth blend

The first assumption is that this gives you a starting point, a reference point, something to start with. The second assumption I make is to use this for approximate size. You could assume mass if you wanted to but I don't have a scale nor leaf RH meter so I just go by approximate size.. It's...

Things that Make Me Feel Old

I started being aware of my age the first time I saw a cop and thought "that guy is too young to be a cop".... But it was totally confirmed when I sneezed while tying my shoe and thought I might need to call in sick due to the subsequent back pain! One more example . Years ago when we got off...
