• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Air cleaners

I totally agree with 'kyleb.' An exhaust fan is the surefire way to go. From the research I've done, an suggestons I've received (I plan on smething similar soon) Penn Barry seems to be the best exhaust fan for the money, performance and reliability. HERE is their site. Poke around on there...

Wacky Humidity Problems in New Mini-Cabinet

Sorry, what I didn't mention is that I have the Cigar Oasis set at 76.1 and I can only get it up to 71 (now that a couple day have past since the original post), so you think it's just a matter of waiting for he humidor to get it's bearings?

    Thoughts on "My Father" Lancero

I've tried all four sizes and I'd say I like the lancero best. I'm a pretty big DPG freak, and I was really excited about this stick, but I was slightly let down. I was told by a local B&M owner that when he talked to Janny she said it would be a very different cigar from the rest of their...

Wacky Humidity Problems in New Mini-Cabinet

All-knowing Ron...and everyone else... I got this new "Chairside Humidor" called The Club (picture below). It has three levels: bottom/floor, vented shelf, vented shelf. I have two Cigar Oasis XL Plus' on the bottom level, and then two small fans under each shelf facing up, to get some...

    Today's Haul

Bummer...I'm interested to see what it's like.

    Today's Haul

I'm anxious for the next three Mi Barrio blends: El Acare, El Forro and El Bellitero (if my memory serves correct). El Acare is supposed to be out by now, isn't it?

El Triunfador Or La Riqueza No. 2 (photo added 2nd page)

"Never had a Tri"... Blasphemy! The La Riq No. 2 is my favorite of that line, and the El Tri is a great smoke. I'd have to agree with the "whatever you like" post(s).

    Suggest a cigar

I also agree with the Padron 80th Anniversary. Great cigar, that's usually my go-to celebration cigar.

Troop Packs #2 AND #3 en route!!

Are you still in need of Water Pillows? I can grab you as many as you need, I get 'em free from a local B&M.

    Today's Haul

These are great smokes, I tried one at a B&M a while back and went straight back and got a box...luckily it was duuring a 40% off sale so I got it for like $100!

    Blowing Smoke (through nose)

I do what madSimon does. I block the air passage from my lungs out of my mouth so that the smoke is forced to go out of my nose. I don't like pushing more than a slight amount of smoke out of my nose: a) it burns and b) I think I can get the same effect by just blowing a small amoutn out of my nose.

How do you store your smokes? (Poll)

I just got a mini-cabinet. It's about 36"x24"x20" it's so cool. I still use one of my desktops though.

    Casa Magna - Like It?

Agreed. There are also issues, or so I'm told by a couple local B&M owners, with how they can advertise, such as: retailers cannot advertise their Casa Magna stock online, all sales must be face-to-face. Now, for one local large B&M, that chops a huge amount of their sales with that one...

Do you have a vitola/size that you naturally gravitate to?

I really like Corona Gordas, Coronas and Belicosos, but I also enjoy Robustos and Lanceros.

    Humidors on Amazon

Good planning, you usually want to go larger that what you currently have. The Humidipacks are great, but as your collection grows, you will need something that can better disperse humidity throughout your humidor. I like Xikar/Madelaine crystal humidifiers - being in Rhode Island, you would be...

    Humidors on Amazon

Looks to me like there are a alright amount, whether or not they are good quality, I don't know, I didn't take the time to investigate them. There are a couple of sellers that are also online retailers, so I would probably go with them, simply because they might carry their warranty over to...

    Blowing Smoke (through nose)

Woah, well I don't inhale smoke from sticks at all...ever. But AJ's method is pretty much it, mixed with some of Proud Bears. When I'm smoking and I draw my cigar and I start to blow the smoke out of my nose/mouth, it takes it a second to work it's way from my mouth to my nasal cavity - just...

    Cigar poker's

I like the one I got from a local B&M. It's a no-name tool, but it's got the chissel tip and serrated edges around it every inch or so, not sharp-serrated like a bread knife, they are more like little grips to help pull out tiny bits of tobacco to loosen up the draw. I think it's great, and it's...

    Casa Magna - Like It?

Really? Huh...maybe it differs form the Robusto to the Torpedo? Everyone I've talked to has noticed the flavors that are introducd about half way through. I haven't tried the Torpedo though, so I'm only speaking off of the knowledge/taste of one vitola. Like you said though, the price? Can't go...

    cigar scissors part 2

That's where I got mine - platinumcigars. The scissors were recommended to me by 'oneday' and they are Solingen Steel "Donatus" scissors - I just got my pair a couple days ago, and they are great.
