• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    A brief Truth in Cigars

Maybe you are right, I though he was saying that a monte cristo and a cohiba of the same size are the same blend, same wrapper, just a slightly different color and put in different boxes.

    A brief Truth in Cigars

Well I did this expirement last night, and I was able to pick out the cohiba, probably just luck, but I did like it better, and I must say these two sticks taste different. Keep in mind I am no tasting expert, if you gave me 10 sticks and said pick out the the cuban, or pick out the cohiba by...

    Cigars vs Pipes?

I will smoke a nice black cavendish blend with just a hint of flavor on it on occasion, there are different levels of flavoring when it comes to pipe tobacco, you can get some drug store cherry or captain blacks or something and I will not touch it, but if you find a really good blended tobacco...

    A brief Truth in Cigars

This thread has inspired me to have my wife break out a sig II and a monte 4 tonight take of the bands and I will give them a try next to each other and see if I can pick the cohiba. I guess you would need a couple boxes with the same code to be accurate, and I am sure mine are atleast a year...

    HERF question

Sorry for the big cut and paste, but I wondered this myself and looked it up some time ago and found this on ASC. Begin Quote from ASC: Guy, quoting entirely from Microsoft Explorapedia. The term "Herf" used to describe the smoking of a cigar comes from the 1960's in America when...

    Quick shipping question

I sent an old priority box I had via regular mail and it got returned, the post office said insufficient postage for priority. So I would not do it, unless it is no rush, because it may get returned. Another note, I have done this several times before this last time and it did not happen, so...

What is the heaviest cigar you have enjoyed?

I really need to try these. For me I'd say a fresh power ranger hits a little harder than the LFD Chisel.

My Father by DPG...didn't know they were out

I heard from Pete(well from his keyboard) that these are the Cabiguan Maduro in a lancero size, based on the taste, and that they are his cigars, I am inclined to believe him.

    Writing on cello?

I put the year on Opus cello, but I put it on the bottom on that little extra that folds over, I would not write on the part that is touching the cigar, if cello lets air through it seems like the ink could seep through. But I have never tried it.

I have tried 2 of the robustos, OK stick, but, IMO, not worth what they are charging for them.

Lanceros? New Fad or great cigar

IMO, Lonsdales and Lanceros (although a fairly new size overall, I think Cohiba was the first true lancero, but it is really just a long lonsdale) have always been popular cigar sizes, in recent years larger cigars have become the new fad, I think you see "serious" cigar smokers that participate...

    Customers of size

Agreed. The movement started just like this. IMHO discrimination is acceptable in a private enterprise, to a point. I am not saying I agree with that practice, but I believe in peoples right to do as they please in a business they own. In the same example, if I want to allow smoking in my...

    Customers of size

I am not sure you can compare this with smoking bans, It is SWA imposing this regulation on their customers, who choose to use that airline, not the goverment forcing a private business that people are not forced to go into to ban a legal activity.
