• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    12 Ronsons for $17!

I find that old-fashioned lighter fluid does a pretty good job of getting the goo off.

    12 Ronsons for $17!

Yup, it was DOA. Bled it (nothing came out) and filled it. Then listened to the fuel leaking out from around the filler valve. Oh well, I guess that raises the cost from about $1.33 apiece to about $1.45.

    12 Ronsons for $17!

1 of mine seems to be DOA, too. I won't know for sure til I get it home, bleed it, and try refilling it with Vector.

    12 Ronsons for $17!

Just got mine. I find they ARE torches --- you just have to turn up the flame adjuster. :eyebrow:

    Keurig Coffee Maker-What's your take?

My sister-in-law bought me one for Christmas a year or two ago. It's the bottom of the line, and it only holds enough water in the reservoir for a single cup, so you have to fill it each time you want a cup. Despite that, I really like it, and I use it every day.

    Same here.

Thanks for the link and the discount code! I couldn't resist and just pulled the trigger. I can see it now: "Hey, you like my lighter? Keep it --- it's yours. Don't mention it." :stretchgr

    Smart Phone Decision..

There are lots of reports from good sources that Verizon will start selling iPhnes early next year, i.e. in a month or two, if you want to wait and see.

Your most disappointing smoke of 2010?

If you liked the Le Bijous, try a La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor. IMO, it's similar but tastier.

JR Cigars Have You No Shame

I don't know what you guys are complaining about. I love getting catalogs, especially JR's: Nice pictures and sometimes some funny stuff from Lew Rothman. I buy regularly from JR's, CI, Holt's and some other etailers, and they are all excellent with great customer service, IME. The sole...

Your most disappointing smoke of 2010?

DPG My Father. The Le Bijou version was a lot better. Also very disappointing were the later releases of the Fuente Rosado Series. The first shipment of boxes was fantastic, but later sticks have been uniformly disappointing. :sadpace:

You guys were right, should have just started with the bigger one. (Igloodor)

I have 3 coolerdors (not to mention 3 desktop humidors and more traveldors, including a 50-stick one, than I can remember) going at any time. Don't bother to seal up the plug. I keep mine closed. Some folks like to keep theirs open, to allow for a bit of air flow. I don't 'cause it allows...

    2010 Fuente Opus/Anejo Release

I used to LOVE Anejos, but the past several years' releases have been really disappointing IMO. I may try a stick or two, but I don't plan to stock up unless the samples are really impressive. JMO, YMMV.

    Cigars You Miss

I miss the original releases of a number of cigars that are still on the market. The current offerings pale in comparison to the first shipments of these smokes: Edge maduro, Edge Sumatra, & Fuente Rosado Series. I smoked a lot of them when they first came out, but boy I sure wish I had had...

Perdomo - Habano vs. Lot 23

It all depends on your taste, as you can see from this thread. I generally like a lot of the Perdomo cigars, including several store brands which are among my favorites (Lusitania and JR's Genuine Counterfeit Cuban Pre-Embargo 1958 Edicion Limitadas). Only way to find out if you like 'em is to...

    Cutting Belicosos/Torps/Pyramids

I use a Dickman cut (slant at about 45 degrees). It lets me direct the smoke towards my upper palate instead of hitting my tongue directly. That means less tongue irritation. Like the others, I start smaller, then increase til I hit the Goldilocks point, testing the draw with each cut.
