Local guy that lives in a town 15 miles away caught a new state record brown trout this past week. 34lb 10oz beating the old record by over 6#.
Caught on 4# test and said it took about 20 minutes to land it. It was weighed and measurements taken for a replica and release back into Lake Taneycomo (Branson). Good for him!
I figured he would sell the fish to the World Headquarters Bass Pro Shops only 40 miles away. They would have paid big bucks to put in their aquariums.

Headed back for another trip to Idaho to fish the Henry's Fork in late September. This will be my fourth trip out there in the last 6 years. It's almost 2 months away and I am already pumped. Rereading all the great books by the likes of Gierach, Hill, Mcguane, Roger Haig -Brown, Lyons, etc. just to whet my appetite and keep my daydreaming in check. Photos from when I get back but here are a few from some of my previous trips. To state that I am pumped would be an understatement.IMG_0441.JPGIMG_0455.JPGIMG_0458 2AV.JPGIMG_0534a.jpgphoto-5.jpgphoto-7.jpgP9240026.jpgP9260066.jpg

So our charter was shark and bottom fishing on a 45 ft boat. Our captain said they had only caught 1 shark in 4 days because the water was so warm so they moved. We had 11 people on the boat and 7 of them were very sea sick. Mom and I have been on boats our whole lives my uncle owned the official Cigarette Kahlua race boat and he had a Chris Craft 312 stinger Emerson Fittipaldi but he sold these boats after his Cancer and Stem Cell transplant it was just too hard for him to haul up to Lake Erie every weekend like he did. So he bought a lake house and a New Grady White and a pontoon boat. We caught Black Sea bass, a Atlantic rattlesnake aka lizardfish and a barracuda! Only 3 of mine were big enough to keep and one of moms. They had to be 13 inches to keep and my biggest was 15 inches. We didn’t take a ton of pics because the boat was rocking so much and didn’t want to drop our phones in the water. We were about 10 miles offshore.40B61A1D-F177-4852-BE08-C9FC45242814.jpegB27395E6-D997-4EE0-AC06-3C7D9181E0BB.jpeg3E8F8933-94F6-418C-8DD9-7871310C9150.jpeg90C2C977-9F55-4A17-89A2-5F9246591645.jpeg
