I have a cookbook that has been in the family since the 1800's, made the eggnog recipe that's in it a couple times and it's freakin amazing! Might have to try aging some...never thought of that before. Go figure lol

I used to have white rum. It somehow disappeared. I think it went with my sugar and my useful pouring funnel too. Hmm if I could only figure out how those things are no longer in my kitchen......

The entire concept of "aged eggnog" is actually terrifying to me, science or no science!

Interesting. Do you think this would store well in a regular capped beer bottle?

Dan
I don't see why not--but I think you still have to refrigerate it. The bottles I'm using have glass caps that lightly clamp on so I'd think a beer bottle would be fine.

Mixed mine up last night. Filled 5 1/2 quart jars. I had to give it several taste tests along the way and think i did ok for my first try at something like this. Thanks for the recipe!

Nice!

I'm looking forward to seeing how this mellows by Christmas. We'll crack a quart bottle for the holiday, then my work has already requested another quart bottle in the New Year for a little party, so we'll see how it is with more than a month to mix/mellow.

The eggnog was a huge success at parties with both sides of the family, completely cleaned me out. Making a double batch next year for sure!
