Picked my first tomato of the season this morning. It needs about 3 days on the countertop to finish ripening, but I didn't want a thirsty bird to start poking holes in it. This variety is Bear Creek. I never grew or had seen it before, but bought the plants (4) from an Amish dude at a local Farmers Market who said his family loved them. It looks like several more tomatoes are beginning to ripen. It's time to stock up on bacon.
