I got laid last night instead.... BOOM! lol

I haven't picked up the game yet. The last 2 releases I was so excited and picked them up first day, just to be disappointed with the network errors. So this time I figure I will give it a couple weeks before I pick it up. Let them iron out all the little issues first. The only problem with that is everyone will be all weaponed up and have the maps memorized when I decide to jump in.
Took care of that before work, no joke and watched MannyP box em' up - but thanks for stopping by.

Not sure what kind of player you are but the bell curve on this game is far different then the past 2-3 games... with the multiple tiered kill streak even b ad players have a chance to get 12-18 kill, kill streaks being that the support package does not reset on death. People that I run with who had 3.5+ KDs in the past two games have <2 KDs in MW3.

Have to prestige!
80 lvls w/ 10 prestiges.

... and yes leveling is fast.

Cool thing about 1st prestige is that you can spend your token on any item you want and that item will stay with you permanently through all future prestiges... i.e. if you want the AK, RPG, claymore, etc. you will gain access @ lvl 1 for all future prestiges. Pretty nice deal, better than DBL XP imo.

I have mixed feelings about this game. I love the faster paced action than Black Ops. I agree that it feels more like hardcore which I like. It's easier to get kills.

What I like:
1. Strike packages are ok. I like that you earn your killstreaks even if you die and since the killstreak kills don't count towards higher killstreaks like in MW2, people won't be able to camp nukes.

What I don't like:
1. Lvl 80 prestiges? Are you F'n kidding me?
2. Way too many perks and weapon proficiencies. The marksman perk adds a big name that covers their body.
3. One of my biggest gripes against MW2 was how difficult it was to unlock the various guns attachments and this one was even worse. Now you have to level up each weapon. I prefered the black ops currency format better so you could buy whatever attachment you wanted. I saw a survey and apparently weapon proficiency was one of the most liked new features. IMO, I think it's the worst.
4. No serious improvement in graphics
5. The killstreaks are largely MW2. I would have hoped they would merged the ones from MW2 and Black Ops (attack dogs, RC-XD, etc).
6. Really bad lag on PS3
7. Only 2-person online play in PS3
8. I hoped they would add mouse & keyboard support by this time, but I don't think they did
9. The maps are limited so you can't jump on cars or certain spots. I suppose they did this to prevent people from finding camping spots in strange spots. I just found it odd. Some maps I thought to myself I could jump over that box or car and it wouldn't jump onto those items.

I have been liking it thus far:

1. 80 LVLs but I have been moving through them pretty quickly and I don't intentionally play games that allow for more XP (I play ground war for the most part).
2. The more perks and proficiencies the better you can build a class to suit your play style, I love it!
3. I think a happy medium would have been weapon leveling with unlocks at each level where you can select what you want to unlock first. This allows you to unlock everything (because you have an unlock every weapon level) yet allows you to work with the attachments you prefer first.
4. I think the graphics are pretty good but could be better. I am afraid if they got too good for the current technology that the games would be really laggy.
5. Kill streak rewards are current to the era of the game and they added quite a few, although I do wish they came up with a couple different ideas.
6. I have experienced some lag but for the most part I have been lag free, this depends on your connection and the hosts connection. Sometimes you get lucky.
7. Do you mean you want more than 2 people on your PS3 to be able to play online?
8. Not a mouse and keyboard kind of guy, love the dual shock.
9. I agree here. The maps are huge but the playable area is pretty small. I wish you were able to do a bit more climbing around etc.

Ok here goes... hope you read this:

What I like:
1. There is still a NUKE in MW3, it is called the MOAB - if you are using the specialist perk class and get 24 kills w/ your gun - you call in a MOAB that kills everyone on the other team and permanently EMPs them with a yellow haze, but does not end the game.

What I don't like:
1. It's actually way faster than other CODs with all the additions to the guns leveling, perks, and multiple KS set ups - They added more for the people that are able to spend countless hours playing. I mean sh!t I played against some third prestigers last night. PLUS all the chances for double XP through various outlets, you could of stared the game with up to 34 hours double XP.

2. FIND your set up and use it - want to be invisible and watch for people, RECON/ASSASSIN/MARKSMAN - and counter them.

3. ONCE YOU prestige one time you get tokens - if you still have tokens from past COD prestiges SAVE THEM - after you prestige once it unlocks a gear shop - you can spend (1) token on ANY ITEM and you have that ITEM FOREVER - its unlocked @ level 1 for every prestige in the future - you want claymores, RPGs, or the FAD @ level 1 - WELL you will have them.

4. No serious improvement in graphics - can't argue there, actually maybe a step back - not as cartoon-esque but still lacking.

5. The KS are far different than MW2 with the addition of support and specialist set ups - plus the higher tier KS in the assault package are worthless... no sense in running for them.

6. Really bad lag on PS3 - again cannot argue you on this one. While it is bad @ times, it's not unplayable - the only thing that truly bothers me is the hit box latency, when you clearly are around corners.

7. Only 2-person online play in PS3 - and you can have more on XBOX? IF so I did not do that. We are beyond the days of N64 and 4 player MP, but if you have a bunch of friends that play, you can always LAN some PS3s together and play some of the new custom private game modes.

8. They do - its called the Eagle Eye - not sure how well it works, but its there...

9. Agreed - it is weird that they don't let you on a multitude of stuff, and for some objective game modes it's super lame... i.e. HQ and CTF, but while the maps are LARGE, the fighting space is small - for a SMG RnG play style and flanking... I LOVE it.

Meh, just my 2 cents.

That would have been nice. It would be a mix of the Black ops "currency" style of unlocking in the order your choose, but only a single attachment per unlock level.

7. Do you mean you want more than 2 people on your PS3 to be able to play online?
Yeah, I often play with my family and we are 3 or sometimes 4. We can play with 4 people but not online. That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. It's a disadvantage for us since the reduced screen real estate sharing by multiple people. Why not allow more than 2 people to play at once? For the other 8-12 players on a game, there's probably less lag since there's fewer total connections (but you could also argue that more people on a single connection means more lag since so much data is transmitted by a single box. IMO it would be less lag everything considered). If it's a hardware limitation, then I'd understand, but the 4-player multiplayer non-online makes me think this is not the case.

Also, we didn't get to play, but BO didn't allow 2-people online FFA, I don't know if MW3 also restricts this.

Point #1: See ABOVE post about unlocking items.

Point #2: Game types are 12 or 18 in ground war. Yes, offline you can play (4) people, but online you are limited to (2) people and this was a NEW edition with last years game (Black Ops). If you are constantly playing w/ 3-4 people, then I would suggest investing in a second PS3, and before you bash me for suggesting this (the I already spent so much on whatever argument) they have come down drastically in price and on Black Friday this year they will be on sale for <$200 with a controller and (2) games. It is one of the best media devices on the planet and...

... I personally own (2) - my original fat 60GB and a new slim 160GB model.

I got bored with this game way faster than past COD's. I think the small playing area of most of the maps has lead to me not having as much fun. Kind of upsetting because I had such high hopes for this game.

I like the 2 person survival maps at the moment. Trying to persuade SWMBO that we need a new 50" tv bit my powers of persuasion are letting me down .
Still rubbish at the game though!

I am really loving this game. I mostly play Hardcore Team Deathmatch and Hardcore Kill Confirmed, but for a change of pace I am liking the new Drop Zone mode.

I really like Drop Zone, found it last night and was instantly addicted. Less campers when kill streaks are turned off.
