So why do these brands also put out cocktail recipes

I don't drink cocktails, I drink most Bourbon & Beer. I would venture to say it has been 20 plus year since I had a mixed drink. I use to in the 1970 before you were born drink Martinis's with Beefeather or Tangery Gin, and three Olives.

I'll always start out straight but I usually try and find something that compliments/exaggerates It's unique characteristics

I’m from Wyandotte/Southgate,I’ve never heard of that...but it makes sense.

Local favorite called the Bill Bonds:

Equal parts of Crown Royal and Butterscotch Schnapps served over ice.

Need to visit a crusty old beer/shot/burger place, where the bar-maid's name is Marge or June. Like Miller's in Dearborn or Mason's in Livonia. Not too many Downriver folks watched the news when Billy was around because Mama's Family was on the same time.
