Scissors are basically a guillotine with better mechanical advantage.
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
I'm going to try this thing and see what happensI've used the Xikar foldable scissor a couple times and it was a great cut, very sharp edges.Anyone use the scissor things?? I have a pair but nervous to f up a stick...

I just picked up one of these colibri cutters. Never been a big v cut person but like it for smaller ring gauges. Holy cow I like this thing. I've been using it for larger ring gauges now too.I'm a big V cutter fan. I have 4 of them and have never had an issue carrying on the airplane, domestic or international flights.

This Colibri is the latest one and has a reverse V to it. Great cutter.

I have two of these wooden ones. Until a month ago it was my daily cutter for almost 4 years. It's a Chinese knock-off of the Lil' Boston cutter which runs about $100. I paid $10 for one of them and $17 for the other.![]()
I also have a Wolfe reverse v-cutter. It's a plastic case model very similar to the Xikar v-cutter. Good and cheap cutter.
For what it's worth, I typically travel with at least one guillotine cutter and one V-cutter. Neither have given me security issues at airports.
It's pretty awesome, isn't it? I don't even know where I put my wooden ones as this thing hadn't left my side from the first cut!I just picked up one of these colibri cutters.
