Almost any of them except the Feather.

My first blade was the Darby and I managed not to remove chunks of my face with it. Just make sure your face remains well-lubricated.

Lmao! You know it's funny. I thought there would be a learning curve but so far after a month I haven't knicked myself even once. Of course I say that and then. Haha!

I just picked up the Clubman Pinaud tonic a couple of days ago - totally an old school barbershop aroma. Love it!

I use this as my finisher/cologne just to bring the memories back. People get faint wiffs and always ask me what it is too!

You don't like the Feather? That seems to be the only blade that I don't cut myself with.

What I think rdom meant by that is the fact that it is a very sharp and aggressive blade and if you aren't used to wet shaving and the technique to it you could be gashing yourself pretty badly.

Oh no, I really like the Feather (just started using them) but I thought he had never used the DE razor and wanted to pass along a great piece of wisdom that I had received - which was that the Feather is very sharp and aggressive so it's not a good blade to start with.

I think, at this point, all I will buy are Feathers.

Exactly! Thanks. :)

I've had a crazy weekend else I would have replied with this exact thing earlier.

The kids had a bath tonight and, since it was my turn to watch them, I decided I'd shave. As long as I had to hang out in the bathroom...

Prep: Hot towel on the face for a few minutes
Pre-shave: Cedarwood and Jasmine oil
Cream: Proraso Sandlewood cream
Brush: Summer badger hair brush
Razor: Edwin Jagger DE89lbl with chrome handle
Blade: Feather (woot! that mother effer is SHARP)
Post-shave: Alum block
After shave tonic: Clubman Pinaud

I am almost out of the preshave oil so I need to mix up some more. I think, this time, I will cut some of the Castor oil with the thinner Jojoba oil to make it easier to spread on my skin. I'll keep the Jasmine and Cedarwood essential oil combo, though.
