  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Question for all my Tatuaje friends???

from a "Man of your Word" standpoint, yhou'd be a fool to back out now. You'll loose credibility and respect by not being a "man or your word". I assume that matters to you...

but if being a man of your word isn't a worry or consideration, then yeah, bail. it's a pretty cheesy gig. and to give you the benefit of a doubt, i'd bet that this Tim cat kinda trapped you into this whole fight thing...got made, made a hlf hearted joke about fighting you about it, then took you up on it when you agreed out of anger.

Is there going to be head gear involved? Seriously though, it's just a boxing match. I don't see you loosing anything by doing this. I haven't read the details, but how many rounds?

My first thought was that it is kinda tacky.

Having said that, you said you would do it, and I think you should.

I don't think it will hurt your brand any, and who knows, it might help.

Good luck :)

I found you to be like your cigars; straight up and the real deal. This seemed like an experimemnt that got out of control. I actually thought it was all wind till I saw people buying tickets. As far as marketing, Tatuaje seems to be secondary to Tim..

What is done is done. The charity angle would be a nice touch to bring it back to your values versus the circus it has become.

I'm in the don't back out, be a man of your word camp. Don't do what anyone else tells you to do. Do the unexpected, it keeps people on their toes.

Personally, I don't find it to be a good promotion. If anything, it detracts from both brands.
Backing out is not really an option as its been promoted and tickets have been sold. But putting a different spin on it is a viable option. People have mentioned a charitable cause, have an post-fight event where x% goes to a certain charity. I hear the State Children's Health Insurance Program needs some extra money....:hysterica

My first thought was its pretty cheese ball...

But sometimes these things end up being a positive.

BTW, Ever thought about extending some of your promo deals to your "Tatuaje friends" here? Maybe you have and I missed it....but for us guys who love your cigars and fork out big money for them but live no where near those events/shops would love to get a free shirt and couple of sticks or whatever you give normally, when we buy box.

Brother man. I know you could knock his block off, but it is a circus thing. I wouldn't go if it was here. Now if it was a charity event that had a few other fights, that would be a good thing.

I would say it's worth it Pete if it is some kind of CHARITY event and not purely a marketing thing for Famous (nothing against them, they're great). If you could raise money for a charity to, say, help out all the unemployed people in the US right now or something like that, then it's cool.

Any amount of hype and cheese is acceptable for a charity event. But for a marketing event...that's up to you. If you think it would be fun either way...they heck, do it. Who cares, it's not like people wont' smoke your stuff because you did something cheesy.
Yeah I am already working on this....I'm most likely gonna do it because I think it's funny but i want something to go to charity.......Things like this are usually in good fun and usually promote a good cause.....Thanks for the advise guys.....

I would say yes, but only if it will be a real fight. If you two are just going to get in the ring to play around, and not really try to win, then I say no.

PM sent! thanks bro!
haha, X2!

i have to echo what everyone else here has already said. you have a great product, we all (well, most of us) will buy it regardless. do what you have to do for yourself. but if you can donate something to a cause, it'll help you look better to those that feel this is a lame attention-getter.

that said, im gonna go smoke a tat noella....

Yeah it kinda gay( Alphalfa vs Spanky) but you already stepped into it so you can't back out now. Do it, make sure to get something positive out of it have some fun.
It may get you one or two more purchases of your brand. The rest of us are already addicted.

My personal thought given the way it has been portrayed on the promotion site is that it seemed like a pissing contest. I just have always felt like you should be above that stuff given how successful your brand has become. Your smokes speak for themselves and the couple of times that I met you have comported yourself with class. If he wants to get his panties in a twist let him. Those that know you will know what kind of person you are, despite the other person's sour grapes.
