  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Lumpy ass soft box press petite lancero?

It's got some tooth about it. It reminds me of an actual stick, wrapped in dark leather. I don't know why. Has a great flavor. Coffee beans/leather/gritty earth/smooth. There is a slight twang on the back end. Medium through and through so far. There is just the slightest amount of spice out of the retro. The leather really stands out in the beginning. The pepper is starting to pick up. There's a malted barley that wraps itself around the profile of the smoke.

This sticks packing a decent dose of N for its size. The second half changed within one puff....boom! Adding a creamy note and peanuts. Unshelled roasted. Not the can, de shelled garbage. The retro spice has also intensified. There is an ever so faint sweetness waaaaaaay back there. Almost like a wine. Phenomenal burn and draw.. I love that. No fuss, no distractions, just me and the cigar daydreaming together.

I just had one of those draws that retro's out completely smooth and full of flavor, I love when I hit a pocket like that on a peppery smoke. I'm really enjoying this stick. The profile really fills out In the second half. The profile stays consistent through to the end. Great smoke that I nubbed to the finger tips. Thanks Santa! Now what is it?

Box Press Robusto

The wrapper almost looks like tiger wood maple...but with tooth.

Sweet tobacco and cedar come through pre lite

Such a beautiful ash, stacked like nickels and contrasts wonderfully against the "tigerwood maple" wrapper.

This stick is burning pretty fast.. The draw and burn are a thing of beauty. The profile is sweet, lemon candy, woody...the lemon twang coats my tongue and roof of my mouth. The smoke is medium bodied and roughly the same strength.

Mmmm.. The middle of this stick has just gotten creamy! Spicy retro, this profile cannot be done proper justice by me at the moment.. I feel I'm failing to describe it properly. I knew I shouldn't have tried to do a review while watching the last episode of Newsroom! You can't pause a cigar...lol

The retro is bold and the profile is delicious..the sweetness is up front but not overbearing like it can be at times. I don't know what else to say other than I love it. Oh and this is the last time I try and multi task while doing a review...you miss so much and lose the concentration it takes it discern the different flavors you are experiencing. I still know when I'm smoking a great cigar. Thanks Santa!

Thanks Broski, think I need to change it up a little, make it more interesting to read. I don't know if it's just me but I feel they could be better; more interesting... Idk, I just don't want the reader to become bored. Any suggestions/critiques would be welcomed.
I can't think of anything. While I enjoy humour, a lot, I read these reviews, especially by those I trust, so I can venture out from my "rut" of cigar smoking. When I read these reviews, I do tend to see if I can identify the flavors and nuances that the writer is trying to convey. When I'm reading blind reviews of smokes, I feel I am in the shoes of the reviewer in the anticipation of the reveal.

Truthfully, the only thing I would change is a faster reveal by Santa... Bastard...

Corona- beautiful oily, smooth, rustic looking leaf. What a pleasure to the eyes. The triple cap is a thing of perfection, I love it and I ain't even lit it yet..

A little chalky....salt and white bread on the cold draw. White bread...lol, I know right. Hey, it's what popped in my head, so you know it's accurate..

Smells good while lighting it up. I don't think I've seen this stick before... We will see what my tastebuds have to say about it. Semi tight draw (nothing I can't deal with) and a nice trail of constant smoke while resting. What a flavor... Can't describe it yet. This stick has quite the oily wrapper, you can see its sheen on the edge of the burn line, contrasted by an ash that's stark white/peppered with black and grays.

The flavor profile reminds me of a Liga but the size doesn't match. Mild pepper through the nose..reminds me of a light sea salt on the tongue upon exhaling. Makes me think of hard candy also... a flat sweetness surrounds my tongue on the finish. I've put on some rhythmically arranged poetry to accompany me on this review. The profile is transitioning midway. Creamy, peppery and finishes sweet on the tongue. I'm also getting other flavors, I just can't place them. The stick is medium body/full flavor.

The strength is picking up along with the peppery retro. It frustrates me trying to figure out what a stick is because I've had so many but not a lot of any so my brain says "I've had this before" but there's no cigar that I am intimately familiar with... Man is this a tasty smoke though. Perfect burn. Dark, creamy, spicy a bit of earth. The strength has a very noticeable uptick.

This stick has been the hardest for me to describe in a while. Final third keeps the strength rolling along, peppery through the nose and spicy on the lips. The end is creamy with a slight sweetness.. A bit fruity.. Overall an excellent smoke. Smoked to the nub.
