It’s ok. Toki is the only other Japanese whiskey I’ve had and I prefer the Toki by far even though it’s cheaper. Just a better taste in my opinion.

BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Dropped into Binny's yesterday looking for a bottle that wasn't in stock. They had 2 New Riff Balboa Rye behind the counter, limit 1. Grabbed that, probably for trade bait, but we'll see. Also got another Bardstown batch Booker's backup in a trade.

Went up to Milwaukee yesterday to see the GF's family. We stopped at a rinky-dink liquor store to grab some wine. She informed me that there would be no bourbon there, so we picked this up for $19.
Worth every penny and maybe a couple bucks more.
Seriously, a decent inexpensive pour, very Beamish, but nothing I'd seek out except in circumsyances like this.

Last night finished a bit of the Pinhook High Proof and then went to a 15.9 year Whistlepig SiB pick.
Tonight the boss and I took a break from moving and and had a quick date night with sushi and Sapporo. Finished with 2016-06 Bookers, Noe Hard times batch. Been a long few days trying to get moved as we get ready to build again.
This is definitely one of my favorite batches.

I cracked the newest Booker's (21-04, Noe Strangers), then had a pour of the previous (21-03, Bardstown). I like both better than any batch since 2019, and give the Strangers the slight edge based on just 1 pour. I'll revisit in a few weeks.

Had some Elijah Craig Barrel Proof C920 early in the evening after work. Definitely one of the better ECBPs.
Later, I finished off my Pinhook 2018 High Proof bottle, then cracked the 2021 version. Not sure the '21 is as good as the other.

Cracked the Pinhook 6 Year Vertical War series. Good flavor but kind of light for my palate. I am thinking the high proof releases are my jam, I'll likely grab a bottle of the vertical every year for comparison, but won't go deep unless one stands out.

Went into a small local store today that I've been in before. Didn't see anything interesting (at an acceptable price, anyway) and started walking out the door when the clerk asked me what I was looking for. I gave him my standard answer, "Booker's", and he said I have that. Pulled out a 2018 batch at retail. Pays to ask....well, to answer anyway.
