Unknown bourbon old fashioned at a nice dinner the new gf took me to yesterday for a pre birthday dinner. Definitely wasn’t real high proof. The gf tasted it and goes that’s so strong as she sips her margarita, I just laughed and thought not that strong for bourbon.2036B15E-D7EB-4ED2-B288-258895E07637.jpeg

Whatcha think of this? @Texican I’ve seen it around lately for around $45 maybe $40 though and been thinking about picking it up.
It's good, and for $40 I would say try it. I love the nose on it. Vanilla and caramel. It's kind of in that sweet spot proof wise where it's just high enough to have a bit of bite, but not too high to where you can't sip on a couple of them.

One of those nights where nothing I had open was calling my name. Opened up 2 last night. the first being Lux Row 12 Year Double Barrel at 118.4 proof. Delicious, the palate was full of luscious dark fruit with cinnamon and spice on the finish. From what I've read this is a limited, distillery only release.

Next was a 1792 Full Proof store pick. It's a pick I liked so much I've picked up a couple bottles on secondary after they were long gone at Binny's. Great hootch at under $60.
