  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Gonna go with that ECCJ by Illusione after a delcious new york strip dinner. Gonna go pick up a good bottle of wine for that too.

If i get time after that i'll go with a cabaiguan belicoso.

I have never had any of the Illusione stuff. I may have to try that this weekend too!

This was a good day for me... opened at lunch time with a AF Hemingway Classic -- among my favourite cigars, consistently excellent in my opinion. Then I went by the cigar store later in the day on an impulse, found the new jar of Tat Blacks in, and walked out with one lit.

Sadly my humidor is in Boston, and I can't justify buying another for Kansas City, so I have to operate out of the local B&Ms. On the plus side, since I'm in there so often, I get first crack at anything new that's in.

So, what are the rest of the brethren smoking today?

Met up with Saully today at a local B&M and had a Tat red label. I think this was my first Tat and it was REAL good. Def will be getting more.

Tonight will prob be a RP Decade.

gonna go with an Illusione ECCJ. may follow it up with a cabiaguan belicoso

OK, finished the ECCJ bout an hour or so ago...it's a real power house. Has a dry sort of flavor reminescent of a dried cigar, but man it's is powerful. That dryness must be the European Style they say it's made in. That's not to say it lacked flavor, because it had loads of it, but it was right on the verge of being too strong for me. However, i did enjoy it.

Tat East Coast. Nice, but had major draw issues. Very tight and did not correct. This has happened more than once with this particular vitola.

Had my first Illusione, an hl lancero. The burn was rough and required frequent corrections, but it was a delicious cigar.

i've had the same problem with the fefw i've had. i figured its unavoidable with the loose roll it has. I expect it on the few i've got left. And i agree again, it's soooooo worth it. love those things.

My first San Cristobal. What a spicy cigar....certainly Pepin! Not sure if I will go back to it, but it was a very good looking stick...oily wrapper, dark.....but it was tough on the palate.

OK I have not had a good day so far;
I pulled out LGC Churchill size, the draw was just to bad to smoke so I gave up.
PUlled out a Illusione I think M7, just got it started and I dropped it in a puddle....... so it was gone.
So I then pulled out a El Credito 2nd and smoked it.

I hope you guys are having better luck than I.

had a zino classic brazilian today. Just got them yesterday. Not bad.

I hate when a good cigar goes bad or I walk into a wall forgetting I have a cigar in my hand and scrape the crap out of it.

Thank God that is not the norm.

You are due for a great smoke tonight.

This afternoon I smoked a La Flor Dominica Lancero... great flavour and in one of my favourite vitolas.

Later on I went on my traditional week-end smoke walk, accompanied by a Flor de Oliva $2 Churchill, which is about perfect for that purpose: it's not worth wasting a premium cigar when the wind is causing all sorts of burn problems, and you aren't paying much attention anyway.

Two very different cigars for two very different purposes, both satisfying.

Had a Tatuaje Series P. First time with that smoke and not too bad.

Going to have another tonight just don't know what yet.
