1972 Olds Toronado.

It had a 455 and curb weight around 5000

Got 8 mpg .... going downhill ... in neutral ... with a strong tailwind.

1972 Opel GT.

I bought 2 when I turned 15 in 1983 for $1000. One ran great and the other looked great. My dad and I then spent the next year converting the one that looked good into one that would run. The now gutted car that used to run sat in the barn for next few years and was used for parts for the other until I sold that car around 1990.

I still miss that little orange car and the time spent working on it with my dad. It looked similar to this one

Since Opel is a European division of GM I was allowed by my dad to own it without getting kicked out of the house for owning a foreign car. He worked for GM for 32 years.

It was a 1981 fiat. I had it for 3 days and the engine blew. My dad had it towed back to the dealership and cancelled the bank paper work. They had let us take it home I guess for the financial part had gone through? Well, all I know is my dad didn't pay for it and got me a 1981 camaro.

Pretty darn close to the Fleetwood Geoff. It was a 472, with a curb weight closer to 6000 lbs and almost 21 ft long. It also got 8 mpg downhill!!! Those were the days.

First was a '68 Chevy Chevelle Malibu. Typical 70s rock n' roll bullshit with the Rocket mags, 60 series tires, jacked up in the rear, etc. Too funny when I think about it now.

My favorite was a '76 Triumph TR6...gawd, I loved dropping the top and driving that car!

My first car, 1964 Buick Skylark. I had that for ten years and foolishly got rid of it. That car and I went through a lot and I miss it terribly. The last engine and trans I had in it were a '69 396/325hp and a TH400. It was my baby, lovingly nicknamed "The Beast" by my wife. Someday I will have another one. I owned about a dozen '64/65s over the years, mostly parts cars but I also had a '64 'vert that was ruined in a flood we had in 1986. It was in poor shape before but the flood finished it off.

I had several cool cars but didn't have them very long.

1969 Camaro
1969 Impala (396 powered)
1967 Barracuda
1967 Chevy 1/2 ton
several Buicks as mentioned above
1968 Impala
1977 Mustang II (302v8)
1981 Dodge Mirada
1970 Monte Carlo
way too many to list I think.

No, I hope that helps.

LOL, sorry I couldn't resist. I do find it odd you name your cars though.
Can you tell us a little more about the reasoning behind naming a car?
