From what I understand it was a little more expensive. Up around $40 or a little more for 750mL. I've heard it's worth the extra money, but I haven't been able to splurge on an extra $20ish for a bottle of gin. Gotta find a bar that serves it first to try it before I buy it.Old Raj? That's a new one on me. I'll keep my eyes open for it. Is it priced about the same as Boodle's, Bombay Sapphire, etc.?
That makes two of us.... I haven't been able to splurge on an extra $20ish for a bottle of gin. Gotta find a bar that serves it first to try it before I buy it.
I am a bit surprised as there's always so much talk about "Scotch and cigars".Is anyone else surprised that Kentucky Bourbon and Rum are beating out Single Malt Scotch so far?
I'm somewhat surprised, although I don't think the numbers are at the point where they are statistically meaningful. :bottle:Is anyone else surprised that Kentucky Bourbon and Rum are beating out Single Malt Scotch so far?
You are absolutely right --- which is why I, personally, generally don't like the Islay single malts. However, you are right again: they go extremely well with cigars, and cigar time is the only time that I order an Islay.Learning some more about Scotch and it seems the only ones I like are the Islay scotches. Smokey, peaty, and much more flavorful than the other regions, in my opinion. I really think Islay scotch pairs great with a cigar. Also, for the bourbon lovers (like me) the Islay scotch has a lot of the same qualities of a good bourbon...
Damn you're smart. I like your style. Having a little Bowmore Islay right now after a 12 hour shift at work. Drank a good amount of Lagavulin over the weekend so I was ready for a lighter whisky. Paired with a Padilla Miami. Yum!You are absolutely right --- which is why I, personally, generally don't like the Islay single malts. JMO, YMMV.
Anything on the rocks isn't very manly...:eyepoke:Man up boys, Jack Black on the rocks!
No, I'm talking rocks as in stones, small boulders. What did you think I was talking about, ice? :grin:Anything on the rocks isn't very manly...:eyepoke:
