Who is your faviorite baseball team and why?

Oh man, with all this snow, I cannot wait for the mlb season to start. It's my favorite sport and the sign that spring is upon us.

So who's your favorite team and why?

I've been a Baltimore Orioles fan for about 35 years now. They were the first little league team I played for and I just adopted them as my favorite team. I suffered through some pretty bad years, but it's been fun watching them ever since Buck took over as manager. I plan on taking my first trip to Camden Yards in August with my son to catch a game.

I was raised near Baltimore my whole life. Cannot wait for the O's to start. I'm wearing my Orioles sweatshirt today since the first workouts of spring training began for everyone today. It's been a long and painful ride until 3 years ago. I'm glad they are doing better now. I love the game of baseball despite what people say about it being boring. Go O's.

Mets fan. First memory of watching a game on TV was an extra inning game during the 86 NLCS against the stros. The rest is history.

The Reds. Why? Well for starters, I live in southwest Ohio. Secondly, I grew up during the Big Red Machine dynasty. When you see the greatest team of all time, how could you ever love another? Unfortunately, every Reds team gets compared to those mid 70's teams and falls woefully short. The 1990 team, though, was maybe more exciting and holds a special place in my heart. Playing fantasy baseball for the last dozen years has somewhat dulled my fervor for one specific team anymore.

Cincinnati Reds baby!! I grew up only knowing the '90 World Series team, wire to wire!! My whole life they have been bad to mediocre with the exception of a few seasons in recent years, and no matter how good they get, all the old fogies complain about them not being the Big Red Machine. They could win every World Series for the rest of time and people would still complain that "they got nothin on the Big Red Machine".

Im not a huge baseball fan but I do root for the hometown Tigers. I remember going to the corner in '84 and seeing them dismantle the rest of the league. Today I still root for them but it has more to do with those luxury suite tickets I get ahold of 4 or 5 times a year lol.

I miss the old stadium. There's so little left of "real" baseball. Now it's all about Tony Rome in luxury suites and cappamochalattes. Tickets are overpriced and players are overpaid pretty boys.

This is a tough one for me. I grew up going to Dodger games with my dad in Los Angeles. The second half of my life has been in San Diego, so I've adopted the Padres as my hometown team but still have fond memories of Vin Scully and the Dodger blue crew. Now that I am a father I have to raise my son as I was raised, and that means supporting the hometown team. This raised an issue with both, my father and my father in law, because both of them are native Angelenos. Neither of them were okay with their grandsons first baseball game not being a Dodger game, so both of my children had their first baseball game with both of their grandfathers cheering on the Padres as we played the Dodgers.

That entire 1990 season was awesome, and that NLCS against the Pirates was the greatest series I have ever seen. The sweep of the A's was almost a let down in comparrison. I think I can still name every player on that team. MLB network recently had a fantastic special on the Nasty Boys and that season.

The NFL. Or the NBA. Even NHL is better.

It's funny I love baseball, played it growing up love watching my kids play, but I just can't watch it on tv for a whole game. I don't really like watching the NFL anymore either unless it's my team or it's post season. Being a Bucs fan in Carolina I get to see 2 or 3 games a year. Now college football for some reason I can watch just about all day on Saturday in the fall.

My first glove was an eric Davis glove. That team had a lot of talent. To bad the owner was marge schott. Completely ruined them

I certainly didn't mean any offense or to imply that you were an old fogey! I really wanted to see that Nasty Boys program but we don't have cable. I'm sure it will rerun sometime. In the meantime, I'm looking forward to that first spring training radio broadcast. Marty and Chris and Thom and Jim Kelch just sound like summertime.

I am a long time Cub fan. Old classic ballpark on a sunny afternoon with a Chicago style hotdog and a cold beer. Hard to beat that. Something special about Wrigley field. Would be nice if they won every once in while. Maybe it will happen in 2015.

Phillies are my Number 1... Awesome stadium, if I ever make it in there after tailgating. I do like the Orioles as well, beautiful stadium been there a few times when I was younger and I remember Cal Ripken Jr. on the field...loved me some Ripkin... Can't wait for baseball weather

AL: Cleveland. Blue collar team not far from Buffalo. I was living there when they made their two WS appearances in the 90s. Being a Sabres and Bills fan, the dark cloud of frustration followed me there. I also like the Red Sox, because they're not the Yankees...

NL: Dodgers. Kirk Gibson's fist-pump HR in '88. Nuff said. Plus I got to a Dodgers game some years later and was awed by Dodger Stadium, with the mountains in the background.

I am a Yankees fan, it's ok, I am not a bandwagon fan. I have been a fan since I was old enough to watch baseball. I learned how to count/read by sorting baseball cards with my father.
