After agonizing for a while with this, I thank Neil Peart for justifying my decision not to choose. "If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice."
Honestly, I couldn't even get past agreeing with myself on the rules for putting an album on the list. My primary hang-up lies with whether or not, in my mind, the 'top album' can have any 'dogs' at all. That is, would Pink Floyd 'Wish You Were Here' make my list with five great songs.....compared to Who's Next, with 8 near perfect songs and 'My Wife'?
What about Carole King's Tapestry, which is an incredible album, but for no good reason, I haven't listened to it for 2-3 years....
I don't think I'm indecisive, am I?
How about....
Who - Who's Next
Van Halen I
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast ....Like the one above, there are many albums with better music, but with no songs less than an '8', in my mind, this one belongs here
Rush - 2112 ....I could buy arguments for other early Rush albums being better musically, but when considering impact as a 'concept album', I have to go with 2112
