Blend #3 Virginia DA, fire cured Virginia, perique
Dried for 15 min
Enjoyed in a Basket Bulldog (my test pipe)
Beverage: Water

Prelight was sweet hay and tobacco. The charring light was really nutty (cashew) and sweet. Once the bowl got going there was a nice spice that came in with the sweet and nutty staying constant. The spice would change back and forth between cinnamon and an almost curry flavor. Very interesting spice that I haven't experienced in any other baccy. There was an almost gritty mouthfeel that was there through the first half of the bowl. I also found the "zing and tickled senses" that @3/5King noted in his review of baccy #1. It's a really nice sensation that is also a first for me. This is definitely high in vitamin N and by the end of the bowl it felt like I've finished a strong cigar! In the second third of the bowl the flavors have morphed into peanut butter and jalepeno. Very enjoyable and hang on until the final third. The gritty mouthfeel has disappeared not to return for the remainder of the smoke. The final third alternated between a sour citrus and sweet hay combination and a toasted sweet like a nestle crunch bar. Burned all the way to the heel with no moisture or dottle and a clean white ash. A nice complex smoke and very enjoyable.

This is the first written review I have done for anything on this site, so thanks for the baccy and for the push to review. All in all this was a very enjoyable smoke. It did burn fairly quickly but that isn't a real downside for me. I think this blend lends itself to age VERY well and will only improve over time. It is probably the highest nicotine level in a baccy I've had and I am a bit spun by the end of the bowl but the flavors kept me going where I would have put others down (which is a very good sign). The only real downside I would say was the gritty mouthfeel in the first third or so but once it subsided it was really smooth and enjoyable. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this changes over time! Very nice work Brother. Thanks for letting me be a part of this and I'm anticipating some more great flavors from the other two samples. Keep up the great work!

USHOG's Blend #2

Mild, fruity, sweetness. A light creaminess to the tobacco and a hint of nuttiness if you search for it.

The body is growing towards medium getting down to 3/4's pack and the profile richens. The spice is sizzling at moments, probably most prevalent when I relighting.

The sweetness fades out the bottom and the nuttiness steps up accompanied by wood. The strength had a slight uptick on the finish of the pack. I picked up a perfume essence, along with a roasted meat seasoning on the last few puffs (I know a weird combo right lol but they were not present with one another)

I still need to learn how to pack and smoke a pipe. I had to relight the pack every time I wanted to smoke it. It wouldn't stay lit no matter what I did. I'm still learning if this is due to the pack or the moisture content of the tobacco... Oh well, It's a process right?

This blend is a quarter of the strength of Blend #1 and the body follows suit. It was enjoyable and I believe others will find it more so than I which is no wonder due to the fact that I enjoy a stronger blend with lots of body. In either case, I will still enjoy the rest of this blend and probably save it for a morning pipe. This blend still stands tall with all of the other tobaccos I've tried and you can be proud of this baby as well Joe. Nicely done, it shows that you have a good grasp at balancing your blends and put together some top notch baccy!

Again, the only thing I find different about this blend from a store bought is its texture.. Reminded me of flaked mulch lol but hey, to me the blend and quality of tobacco is 90% of it. Great job brother.

Smoked the blend #3 in my cob today, lots of great tobacco flavor is what i got. My palette leves lots to be desored though. . For some reason it burned way hot for me but i am assuming it is my newness in the packing department. Had a hard time not packing it too tight. will revisit this in my author and see if it differs. I think the blend is right on just wish i could get it to smoke cooler

I only do this for fun, but when I get this years harvest I will have many more types of tobacco to play with . I will make a few new blends for everyone to try out again at the end of the year. I can not wait for this seasons harvest. I have found a few tobacco strains that are so delicious it is not funny.

I hope it gets there soon. I have never sent anything to Canada before it was a learning experience. Let me know when it arrives

Its in illinois, about to cross the borders. Then it will be a few days to get to my place.
Then I guess I'll let it acclimate a few days? do we have to let it rest like cigars?

While being "for fun" you could use it in trades...
from what I read, you might have a few interested in getting more... ;)

Had blend number 2 today an really enjoyed it. Im still new an can't write a great review but it tasted great an the flavoring wasn't over powering like most eros I've had. Gave me a little bit of bite but I tend to smoke a little fast, once I slowed down it was alot better. I will be sad when it is all gone, thanks again for the chance to give these a try.

USHOG, thank you very much for the sticks included, very much appriciated. I've had a cold, tried smoking some Miss. River yesterday and could barely taste it. As soon as my tastes are back, I'll smoke/review your pipe baccy. Can't wait!!!

I hope you feel better soon. I'm hoping the same for myself. I'm on day 6 and my third box of tissue.
