There are some really talented guys on here.

I refinished and repaired a lot of furniture when I had homes built in the 1920's and 1930's. I pretty much sold all of my tools when I moved from FL.

I used to dabble in some repurposing of things as well. Recently I picked up a bathroom drawer stack and recently repurposed it into a surround table for my Coolidor and faced it with barn wood from our old family farm. It's rough but my wife says it works for her. The drawer will be for cutters, lighters, etc.

I need to find the right top for it as it will be the bartop for a wall mount bar cabinet that I haven't started yet. It's actually a display cabinet at the moment.

That's pretty!

Okay. The Wife sprung a surprise on me Sunday, totally out of the blue...heck, out of the black and perpendicular to the orbital plane. She said she would make a gift of my dream table saw this Christmas, on the condition that it would cover the major Christmas and birthday gift-giving for the next three years. With all the work I've done over the last three years, she felt that I'd asked all that could be expected of my Delta economy grade table saw...and much more...so she thinks I'm due for a more capable model. We ordered it from my wood monger yesterday and it should arrive next week.

For those not familiar with the brand, the major upgrade of this saw is the SawStop safety feature (YouTube video, 00:1:21, graphic warning if you're squeamish about hot dogs). On top of that, it increases my rip capacity by 6 inches (36" vs 30"), it's about twice as powerful (3 hp vs ~1.5 hp), the fence is more accurate and robust, and the overall fit/finish is far, far superior. At 426 pounds (193 kg) total weight, it's going to be a beast to unload and assemble but I'm way excited to get it up and running.

Congrats man! SawStop is a phenomenal tablesaw! I’m going to be ordering a Grizzly G0690 very soon and I couldn’t be more excited. I’d be on cloud 9 if I was getting a SawStop!

I don’t have any direct experience with that saw but it’s popular in the WW community and looks like a helluva saw at the price point...maybe the best. I considered it for a long time but...Alaska shipping.

Sorry, late to the thread.
But thank you for the opportunity to BRAG! ;-) You see, I too am afflicted with the sawdust addiction, and I partakem in the hobby nearly every day after work (never before work), often with cigar in hand, and always with loud rock and roll. Mostly I make make boring cabinets and furniture and doohickeys for the shop or house, but sometimes I make gifts for others. And, if we're being honest here, occasionally I make stuff just for moi, like this cigar measuring device:

Maybe I'll make these and sell 'em when I retire? Who knows...
Here are some Christmas presents from 2015:

And then there's some fancy-pants trays I built for my coolidor a few years back...

Good Grief I need to retire soon! These were really fun and challenging builds. I just wish I could spend ALL DAY in the shop...

@c9belayer Great looking desktops...Something about curly Maple just make me happy.
Agreed. They're fine looking humis and I have a weakness for curly maple, too.
I got the call from my wood monger this morning...my Sawstop has arrived. I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Stumbled across this for the first time tonight. There's some pretty serious talent in this thread.

I've built a couple decks, cased some windows, and hung some crown on my fireplace and in my living room, but nothing like the creativity and finish carpentry skills here. I bought quite a few extra feet of crown because I wanted to try my hand at coping it...it is not coped.

There's some good inspiration here to try a couple more simple builds over the winter and kill some of its boredom.

I laughed so hard at this!! Not AT you but out of agreement! We bought a ton of lumber so I could extend our deck/patio this past August.

...it is not extended.

Oh man!!!! I wish I lived close so I could help! Can’t wait to see it all setup and ready!
Help would’ve been handy but I made do...and I may even have come up with a trick. The cast iron extension wings are a bit beastly to install. I’ve seen YouTube videos of people stacking milk crates and various sizes of plywood to hold while installing the bolts. I used a parallel clamp to make a small shelf on one side while I started bolts in the other:

To level the wings between the fence rails, I used clamps again but reversed to act as jacks:

I’ve still got some tweaking to do but it is now an operational saw:
