Happy Fathers Day all! Morning coffee and quick rolling session using up some leaf left over from the week. I keep tweaking and trying to improve. This week I allocated multiple little increments of time to roll and take my time with leaf prep. I just counted and I may have a personal record on how many bound up throughout the week binding up 39 dolls. Today should be a wrapping day!

The Sophia robusto series is dunzoid... ran out of olor seco, so had to stop at 18

I'll stash it until next Winter at least, to see if I can get a better burn outta that tasty bronceado wrapper that I used as binder.

On to the next project. Looking for a 73rd birthday blend for this coming month. Thinking to start w/ a bit of nic inside T-13, wrapped in corojo oscuro or criollo 98. No clear idea yet what to bind it with. Suggestions welcome. These will prolly be either delicados or coronas.

Sometimes, blending is just too easy. This one is a home run. Key here was to roll a but loose, with just a strip of a binder, so that the tasty bronceado would burn. Tough to roll a delicado loose and still maintain shape. When you wrap, you have to be very careful you don't pull the shape crooked.

All top notch WLT baccy... except IIRC the Esteli is LO.

It's a nubber. Think I'll roll 'em until I run out of my last Esteli.Half an Esteli seco yields as much leaf as a whole T-13 viso.

Age 'em up and next winter I get to smoke the livin' hell outta this blend.

Just got home from a work trip and remembered I had wrappers still in plastic grocery bags that I case them up in. They were sitting in these bags for about a week and a half or so. I was expecting to come home to moldy messes of wrappers… not the case! Except 1 which was LO Candela. Seems to be a little bit more susceptible to molding if left unattended to for to long. There was some slight drying out on the rest of the wrappers, but in general stayed in good shape! With that being said, I prepped some more LO Candela leaf last night and tried my first attempt at barber poles. I watched blisscigarco YouTube video to get some additional guidance. Practice makes perfect for sure, but having a blast regardless!

Wrappers:
LO NIC CT +LO Candela
(Non barber pole) LO NIC CT

Feelings about the blend?
I enjoyed it, I wish I had more corojo seco and nic habano seco but as I'm out of both, and wanted a shorter smoke, I used a light piloto cubano viso to bind.
I will make perhaps 5 more to let them sit and dry down a bit to see what the blend really becomes, this was still a bit more moist than ideal when I lit it up.

Cool. Yeah, I could see the burn was a bit suboptimal.

Finally got to rolling a few this weekend. Going to try one tomorrow and see how it tastes.
Wrapper: Jalapa Viso filler that was good enough to wrap with. Pretty thick so it may not burn so well.
Binder: Mata fina, what I have is pretty thin. Hoping it helps the wrapper to burn.
Fillers: 1 leaf each or so. Some were small so I added part of another leaf.
1 Ometepe Seco
1 Jalapa Seco
1 Jalapa Ligero.
All from leaf only.
Not sure about the Mata fina but I think Criollo 98 seed for the others.

As you can see I didn’t cut the foot off. Just left it looking rustic. All of them are short for when I don’t have much time.

The two little guys are just scraps I had for a super quick fix.

Finished up some for the mold. A blend that i posted on the blending thread. Every 2 have different ligero’s. Debating on 1 wrapper on all or 2 different wrappers. Have some time to determine. Clipped the head and foot of each to where the body felt more sturdy and full (I believe I saw blisscigarco do this in one of his videos. Little paper molded up sticks are left over binder and leaf from the session. Nice to have on hand when you have less than an hour to smoke.
