How should I dry some cigars ?

Thanks for the input guys. I understand that patience is the key. When they come out of the freezer tomorrow they will go into the fridge for a day or so and then I'll inspect them more closely. One thing I've done in the past with some sticks that have mild plume on them is to wipe them...

How should I dry some cigars ?

I was given a box of tubed cigars but they are too wet. I found mold on a few of them. I currently have them in the freezer to kill off any potential beetle problem before they go into my humidor. I will then need to dry them out. The common way to do this is to dry-box them or simply leave...

How many cigars would this hold?

Buy it! If it's a compressor unit just don't plug it in. If your place has A/C then it's not an issue. If it doesn't then put an ice pack in there a few times during the weeks where the temp is over 80. That would make a beautiful humidor.

    Cigar Shack Build w/photos

As a fellow brother in the Great White North I know that if you heat a space in the winter and try to exhaust the smoke, it get freekin cold really fast. I assume you don't exhaust the smoke in the dead of winter. Oh yeah... very cool man cave !

    Just got a Grab Bag

So I had the Berger & Argenti. It was well constructed and good looking. It burned nice and even but it did go out a couple of times for some reason. The smoke was plentiful. The flavor was OK but nothing to write home about. If I was good at writing reviews it would be helpful but I'm not...

wineador how big do i need?

That cabinet looks awesome. Applying weatherstripping is not as easy as it sounds. You have to still have the door close properly. The easiest solution usually is to move the hinges out so the doors are mounted an even distance out from the cabinet all around. Lots of strong magnets are...

wineador how big do i need?

Those big wooden cabinets that they sell specifically as humidors would concern me. They are really beautiful but from the photos it doesn't look like that have a great seal. If the doors don't have gaskets around them I would be concerned about maintaining the RH. It would suck to spend all...

    Just got a Grab Bag

They don't ship to Canada. There are many American retailers that don't ship to Canada. I don't understand it. Just fill out a simple label that says what's in the packaget and drop it in the mail. What's the big deal? Customer pays the extra shipping costs and the retailer makes his...

    Just got a Grab Bag

I ordered some cigars and decided to include one of those cheap mystery grab bags. They offered bronze, silver, gold and platinum level grab bags. I picked the gold level, 10 cigars for $30. Here is what I got. Does anyone have any comments on them? I have smoked the original Cuban version...

    why use Boveda calibration kits?

So it seems unanimous. The calibration kits are no better than the basic Boveda packs. I just got a free 69% pack in a shipment of cigars I just bought. I put it in a bag with a couple of hygrometers to check them. The were off by only 1%. Free calibration kit. Cool.

    why use Boveda calibration kits?

I have not used Boveda packs yet. I use kitty litter and it works great. I have a couple of Bodeva packs coming with a cigar order this week. Since everyone says they are so good I was thinking of doing a calibration check of my hygrometers with them. I am going to put a Boveda into a...

Does ash affect the flavor ?

I'm no expert on cigar flavor profiles. I'm still trying to figure out what it is about the cigars I like that differentiates them for the ones I don't. One thing I noticed is that when I remove a long ash the flavor becomes a bit harsh. When it gets another inch of ash on it it becomes...
