  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

    Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Well, if it you are very concerned about RH at various B&Ms in your area, or you've smoked a few wet ones, I would hide a hygrometer in the walk-in and come back in 2-3 days. If it reads +75, I wouldn't go back.

    As @bostoneo pointed out, he has his own locker for long-term storage. It makes sense to check the humidity in that case.     It looks like a hole, but just a spot. I just re-checked humidor it was in. All cigars look fine. I think it was a sun-spot on wrapper leaf. My heartfelt dripped on one occasion too and that guy might've been one of the cigars under it. Good lookin out, dude.

    BTW, @Tennessee Dave, the bartender was a former sales rep for Buffalo Trace distillery. And he concurs with you 100%, Weller Reserve or Weller Antique are identical to any of the Pappy bourbons, and in blind tastings experts have trouble distinguishing them. So thanks again for the sage advice.

    Well, I would never pretend to be an expert, but the Larue Weller--after nosing it for 15 minutes--makes me pray that there is a bourbon distillery in Heaven. It's 128 proof and the long finish lasted for fifteen minutes. Wifey wanted to spoil me on Friday night. Not sure I deserve it, though. ;)
