• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Thoughts on Dr. Joe Show?

I was enjoying his show too. From what I can gather on his Youtube Channel, he suffered an extremely painful and debilitating sinus infection. That was back in late August of 2015. The symptoms he described sounded quite agonizing, so I assume the infection was serious, if not life-threatening...

    Cigar age

Thanks. I've never smoked one older than 2 or 3 years, so I had no idea. Would you also say that Box (B), the box in maturation period, would taste a lot different than Box (C)?

Interesting WSJ article on Habanos, SA

I agree, but the argument is that something is certainly better than nothing.

    Cigar age

Sorry, man. I was having a hard time trying to figure out my actual question. To simplify, would a 10-year-old box of RASS be amazingly more flavorful and have an astoundingly more complex profile than the 1-year-old box? How much changes in the way of flavors, profile, complexity in that time...

Interesting WSJ article on Habanos, SA

Very interesting read. That's the first time I've ever seen any hard numbers like that. What's interesting in the graphs is that from 2006 to the present production decreased from about 220 million cigars to 91 million. Yet annual revenue has risen in that same time from $350 million to $428...

    Cigar age

Just out of curiosity and because I've never smoked a Habanos with more than five years on it, does age make a huge difference? For instance (and this will be a layered question), I have three boxes of RASS (hypothetical). Box (A) has been resting for 12-18 months from its box-date stamp. Box...

UPDATES- FDA Regulation Thread - Petitions, Links, Action Items

Great read, but very depressing. The sky might not be falling, but it's starting to drizzle. It's total Federal overreach. One-size-fits-all guidelines, because they're too lazy, or too stupid to do their homework. We make up 3% of total cigars sold/consumed in the market, teenagers DO NOT smoke...

A kinder, gentler FDA thread -- now with facts! (TL/DR, the sky is not falling)

Not familiar with his politics. But look, these new FDA guidelines are based off the simple desire of keeping 'harmful', 'addictive' nicotine products out of the hands of children. They were not designed to keep premium cigars out of the hands of adults. But the FDA overreached. That's all this...
