• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Lousy but Im glad to hear you still have your recipes. Good time to make sure those are backed up or written down somewhere. How accurate is it?

Blood orange Berliner sounds fantastic. My pink lemon tree(yes they exist lol) is setting fruit and I'd love to do something similar, or possibly a gose. I read way too many nightmares with sour mashing and it seems unreliable. So I've dedicated 2 of my glass carboys to the cause which I think...

On a separate note I think I came up with a near Budweiser clone by accident when experimenting with Special Roast. I'm not a BMC guy but I'm almost 100% certain one of those uses Special Roast and I think it's Bud. It's a very distinct grainy/sourdough like taste. Much different from the...

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

So my first 2 attempts at a Berliner were unfortunately dumped. One because it was pretty much all cheese and no tartness after 6 days and the other batch that I mash hopped never took off at all. I'm not dealing with Brett or the one possibly still had potential. So after a ton of reading I'm...

Good stuff!! Brew sculptures scare the hell out of me. I know a lot of people use them but the thought of a full HLT sitting up that high just makes me edgy lol.

    Biggest loser-2016

I'm a big fan of the Myfitnesspal app. It takes a lot of the thought out of the process for you and most foods can be input by simply scanning their bar code. I think it makes it easier to be flexible yet accountable and most importantly makes sure your not shorting yourself. Eventually it just...

    Diaz defeats McGregor

Honestly I don't follow all this much so from what I read I thought the guy normally fought at 170. If he normally fights at 155 then yea he probably sits around 175. Cool read on how these guys manipulate their water weight for anyone interested...

    Diaz defeats McGregor

So McGregor came in at 168ish and Diaz probably stepped in closer to 190 after water protocol. Skills aside that's a big weight difference.

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Here's that thread....http://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=333466 I think as far as nutrients I was pretty solid until the plant switched to its flowering cycle. I think changing things up a little at that point, which I never did, will make for better cones. This is where I think the...

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

I successfully grew Cascades a few years ago I think my HBT sig still has a link to the thread. The cones were mostly green tasting/smelling but I think that's because I kept the N too high. Super healthy bines just not the right method for good flowers. There's not much info on growing them...

CH Paniolo vs Tennessee Waltz vs Yellow Rose

Waltz was the better smoke IMO. The flavors seemed better balanced and more discernible though the profile was consistent between the 2. I also had a few plugged Paniolo whereas every Waltz in the box smoked great.

    Homebrewers - Whats Fermenting?

Does someone with Beersmith here mind giving me a hand with something? My comp is getting fixed at the moment or I'd do it myself. How much EKG @ 4.5%AA do I need for 10IBU or less if I mash hop the recipe below? I'm getting ready to whip up a no boil Berliner and will either mash hop or just...
