• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Lagunitas Sucks Holiday Ale

So who has tried a bottle or three of the Holiday "Leftovers".... Curious if this batch is identical or not? I've only seen the initial release, and just a random 6'er or two here or there........and if I pull the trigger on more, I'd rather it be the "fresh" batch (which is ironically called...

    Habano Herf III

Merely a suggestion Ryan, as I've always followed these threads...and like the idea. But it'd be nice if there was some flow... Ya know, just a couple of notes here and there on each cigar, nothing major...then on to the next one. Otherwise it's just a look at what I'm smoking, and might as...

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 YR vs. Highland Park 18

Good info....when I bought the La Santa, I was going backn'forth between it and the Nectar. Had I revisited the brand prior to starting this thread, it wouldve been the Nd'O. Now, that may not be the case...lol. I've still got lots to try though. I'm not quite there into venturing back to Islays...

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 YR vs. Highland Park 18

That's one GlenMo I haven't tried.....I have went through a bottle of each of the La Santa, and the Quinta Ruban....but found I preferred the Mac 12 to em both so didn't really dive any deeper into the line. Will keep an eye out for the Sonalta though based on your reco.

Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 YR vs. Highland Park 18

Had a dram of both of these fine libations on Saturday....the Carribean Cask was 1st, and i'm now almost all the way through my 1st bottle. This is just a plain excellent Scotch. Nice, subtle sweetness, w/ hints of the Rum finish (vanilla/spice). Great flavors and easy drinkability... Next...

    Hefeweizen Recomendations

A few others.... Albeit not "Hefe", just saw the part about similar styles and these might be worth a try... Duvel Hoegaarden And for Domestic: NorthCoast Pranqster Blue Moon - used to drink this quite a bit in Summers past with a nice slice of Orange. Pretty popular, so you may have had...

    Hefeweizen Recomendations

Weihenstephaner Hefe should be right there at the top of your grocery list based on your likes Nick, it's excellent. I've got an Imperial Hefe (King Hefe I think it's called) i'm anxious to try but haven't yet, from Howe Sound.

    Beer-drinkers of the Leaf..

Just went to check and didn't see a "social group" for the beer drinking masses. Seen a comment or two, and know that craft brew interest has seen a huge uptick here in the past 6 months/year, and lots more posts than has been customary. Would creating a group help with that, or is it...

    Fans of Hopsaurus Rex?

I won't give him a hug, but I'd still give him a high five.....LMAO... Yup that's a great read! I'd buy some freetail beer strictly cuz of that there letter.

    Beer O da day!

Those $3.99 sixers won't last forever ya know! :grinFU: pissed my stores only discounted to $7.99, but still better than 9.99.

    Beer O da day!

well that didn't take long for these to hit the shelves! Not sure why I expected it to... Now the question is.. One case, or two.....:dunno:

    Craft Pilsner?

Lagunitas Czech PILS is one of the better ones I've found...even though I don't drink this style often, I will by a random 6'er here and there if the mood strikes.... I've still got some Spaten Oktoberfest to work through when i want something milder. Christmas seasonals crept up, and I hit the...

    KBS 2012 Release

This is one of the proverbial White Whales of craft brew.... Heard its even difficult for people in MI to get a decent stash (more than a 4 pack or 2)... I missed out on the 2011 batch, but hoping for some 2012. The 2010 release still has plenty of legs, that's for sure. This is just a...

The best IPA I've had to date that wasn't brewed on the West Coast. A damn fine brew indeed!

    Scotch recomendation

+1... Although the next 2 bottles of Balvenie that I purchase will be the 15 yr single barrel and the 21 yr Portwood. Still got a few other bottles to work through first, but Balvenie is getting higher on my list of favorites. Curious how the Highland Park 18 will stack up!

    Expensive Cigars

Thats what they should be (maybe slightly cheaper now)....if u have a good vendor. Private parties have no doubt been cashing in on Behike sales on other sites though. Seen plenty of that.

    Sad, yet fortunate news

Thoughts go out to you and your wife brother.. My wife and I recently went through something similar, and it's a surreal experience, and quite sadly, far too common. Not ectopic so much as lost pregnancies... Still coping with it myself, but it gets a little easier each day. I'm a firm...

    Expensive Cigars

Cohiba Behike 54 for me....which ran me approx $38. I think I've said this before, and pretty much agree with consensus thus far, it's hard to justify spending that kinda coin on something that ultimately ends up in a pile of ash. Yes, it was good (great even), and I'm glad I have more....but...
