• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Temperature vs. RH

I would just like to say that the views expressed in my post are NOT my own. I found that after running a google search 'Science of cigar humidification.' I thought it was just an interesting explanation of the chemistry behind the humidification of cigars. I believe that in a small environment...

    Temperature vs. RH

Here's an explanation from a Ph.D. at UCLA from 2009: 5.0 Humidification Why create a humid environment with a constant relative humidity of 70%? Cigars are naturally hygroscopic products. In common with many organic substances, they dry out in the absence of humidity in the air, or absorb...

    Cigar Poem from 1887

I was searching through books.google.com when I came across this poem called "The Last Cigar." It was published in 1887 by a man by the name of J. Warren Fabens. The Last Cigar It was off the blue Canaries, A glorious summer day, I sat upon the quarter-deck, And whiffed my cares away; And as...

Dr. Joe Show debunks Dave Garafallo

Did not know that and was wondering how the relationship between Habanos S.A. related to LCDHs. Thanks for clearing that up.

Dr. Joe Show debunks Dave Garafallo

I'm not a lawyer, Aloha, so I won't pretend to be one. But my guess is that all the GC brand equivalents will suffer if their Cuban equivalents are sold domestically. GC will be forced to file anti-trust litigation to stop the distribution of Cuban brand equivalents. Just because the Supreme...

Dr. Joe Show debunks Dave Garafallo

I totally agree. I liked his point about General Cigar fighting the Embargo-lifting tooth-and-nail. That makes a lot of sense. There is no way General Cigar allows the Cuban brand equivalents on the same shelves of our local B&Ms. They will also fight the development of LCDH stores in the US...

You've done a fine job, dude! I agree. Better safe than sorry. Just don't ever let the room temp climb above 24 degrees Celsius for long periods of time. You will run the risk of bugs and mold above that temperature.
