  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Next batch is getting finished currently, I would think it should be wrapped up mid August.
Thanks for patience guys.

On quick thing, your right side bar needs some padding or you need to find the “ element and shift it over. It currently overlaps into your main body content. That is in both safari & firefox, haven't tried the others.

Yeah, I am running into two issues with the layout and that's one of them. Not only is it overlapping but the whole sidebar is inadequately narrow. BTW, it's happening in Chrome, too. The good news is that it's happening in all three. I hate when there's a layout issue in one browser but not the others. At least this way I know it's a coding issue in the template. I have a 24" wide monitor and it still gets cramped. Now that I (mostly) have the content and plugins in place, I need to either find a better theme or rip this one open. Three words per line is ridiculous. There are better themes out there but this one (so far) is the only one whose responsive elements actually work. At least as far as the free themes go. The other issue is the location of the menu on the responsive version. It's sticking itself in between "Pipes by" and "Cody Perkins". I'm trying to keep costs down for Cody, otherwise I'd suggest one of the many premium themes.

Then, once I get that worked out, I am going to redo the galleries per an excellent suggestion by Clint - click on the picture of each pipe and a slideshow or new page opens with several images of the pipe.

Thanks for all the input - the more eyes on this thing the easier it is not to miss small details.

Oh most deff, does this theme have a custom code area in the back that overrides the existing code? Or are you editing via the code files in the back? Yeah I was messing with it a little yesterday at home in my inspector trying to see what could be done with spacing.

Just save a metric shit-tonne of work by finding a much better theme. Had to alter some of the CSS and the sidebar.php file to make some goofy default shit go away (for example, you can change the site title's font easily in the UI if you buy the $69 Pro version but gotta dig your way through the stylesheet in the free version).

But it looks a HELLUVA lot better in browsers and solves the menu button issue in the responsive/mobile view.

A couple of minor aesthetic things to change on the home page but I am getting close!

Obscure BOTL fact... Jesse (Cigar_Jack) and I recorded 1 episode in 2005 but it never "aired" - thankfully!

I have a photography podcast - we just released episode 72. We go every two weeks and, three years later, only missed two episodes. We just announced that we're ending the show in two more episodes (four weeks from now) and, going back and listening to the first 7 or 8, I can't believe we kept going. Holy shit we were rough sounding! HA!
