  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Good news on the Cripple Creek lodging plans.

http://www.broncobillyscasino.com/

It's the only casino in town that allows smoking - they managed to wrangle a "cigar bar" designation.

It's also owned by a very good friend of mine. ;)

I will be leaving for Alaska, so won't be there for the whole time that you lingerers are around, but I'll talk to Marc about your stay! Great - and I mean GREAT - steakhouse at BB's!

Brad,
I get back to the States on Thursday. After I get settled in there I'll get in touch with you about some of the logistics. I can probably pick everyone up from the airport, cause I'll have to drive down from Greeley anyway. But we'll have to organize transportation to/from rivers, food/alcohol, etc. Can't wait!

Also good beer prices ($2 domestic, $3 Mexican) and some tasty looking Mexican food at Baja Billy's, and half priced coupons ($50 for $25) http://kxrm.incentrev.com/index.cfm?action=offer&offerid=2656

Hey everyone, Count me in!

I know I'm new here, and this is my first post but I'm a vet on others. I wish I would have found this place earlier, as it seems to have TONS of great info and a welcoming crowd. It also seems to host a number of Colorado brethren. I found the link to this herf on another site, and had to get in on it.

Coolhand thanks for organizing this herf, and inviting me. I'm looking forward to meeting you and all the attendees from this great site.

A little info about me. I'm active duty Army from Ft. Carson Colorado. Ive been stationed here for the last 4 years. I just happened to be on pre deployment leave during this herf. Ive got a few years of a "self taught attempt" at fly fish under my belt, so I'm looking forward to learning from the pros. I try to frequent stag once a week, but my schedule allows me more like once a month. My wing man is also a novice fly fisher, and botl, but would like to attend pending approval from his wife. He happens to be a Colorado native and knows of a few great hangouts as well. It just so happens to be my B-day during this too! I don't think I could have asked for better timing, period!

My bud and I can provide transpo to assist in the logistics as well. We would also like to contribute in any way we can, including a few good laughs to make this a memorable time.

Looking forward to it!!!

The mid-week timeframe is difficult, but If I can get the schedule from Brad indicating the best day (i.e. the day for the best private water or location Brad has in mind), I'll take it off of work and drive down to the Springs.

Wednesday, July 9th or Thursday, July 10th?

Is anyone planning to still be in town on either weekend before or after this thing?

Here's a bit of an update on the fishing herf:

Chuck, Greg, and Jeff are flying in on Tuesday, July 8th. I can pick them up at DIA (it's on my way to the Springs), and we can be in the Springs by 4:00 or so, probably.
Fishing days are going to be Wednesday, July 9th, and Thursday, July 10th.

The following weekend (July 11th-July 13th), all (or at least most) of the Brothers of the Month will be holding our 1st annual Brother of the Month Club herf. This year we picked Cripple Creek to hold it at. Due to the BoMs flying in, I will need to skip out on fishing on Thursday and pick some of them up from the airport. We're all staying at a place in Cripple Creek (also staying there during the fishing herf).

So, we'll only be able to fish on the Wed. and Thurs. I'm not sure if all of the BoMs want to leave Cripple Creek, so maybe the night that the anglers fly in (the 8th) we could go to 15C or possibly even Bristol (they have that great restaurant next door).

I'm not yet sure where we're going fishing at (need to talk to Brad about it), but it would be cool to go to a cigar-friendly place on the 8th and then fish the 9th/10th. If we can't do 15C, then maybe the Tavern up in Denver or someplace like that?

Let me know what you guys think!

Im down for fishing on the 8th and 9th! And 15c on the 8th would be great for me too. I'll be staying in the springs during this outing, and commuting to Cripple Creek, and/or where ever we decide on fishing. I cant swing the 11th and 12th, cause Im going to have family visiting, for the last time prior to my deployment. Sounds like its going to be a great outing. Im still availible for a ride if you need help picking people up from DIA.

I would like to spend as much time on the water as humanly possible. If we can fish the 8th, lets fish, if not....lets fish.

We can fish the 8th maybe. I think the latest person gets in sometime in the afternoon -- around 3:00pm or so, I believe. So that puts us in the Springs around 4:15 at the earliest, and it'll be another hour or so until we get to good water. If we want to start fishing a little after 5:00, then I'm fine with it, but if we'd rather get some food and a cigar than we can do that too. I understand you guys want to fish here as much as possible, so I'll let you guys decide what you want to do. Just wanted to give you a time frame so you could decide.
