Shot 79 earlier this week for my first sub 80 round. Played a father daughter 9 hole tourney and we shot 1 over this morning. Gotta call back to see how that held up here in a bit. Off to play one of the nice casino courses in Indiana in an hour, comped by a buddy's friend who works there. Good cigars all day, of course! Hope you all are having as much fun as I am!

Missed all of last year because I had to have two of my three triceps repaired after they tore off the elbow bone in a fall. When I first came back this spring, I couldn't drive the ball 100 yards. I've probably hit 2000 balls at our practice range and have now completed about a dozen rounds. Index just dropped back to 14 and I'm scoring in the mid 80s. Goal is to get back to a 10 for now. In reality, just happy to be playing again, and actually seeing some consistency in my game.

Keep your head down boys and hit em' straight!!!!! Low rounds to all!!!!!!!!!
Nice comeback story, hope it continues for you.

Enjoyed a nice sunny stroll and a cigar on the way to a 39 today from the tips (par 35). My home course is quite different from back there. I am really pleased at my consistent good play these days. My putter is hot as hell. I didn't miss one under 5 feet. I need to work on getting rid of the hook driver. That cost me 3 of my five shots over par (had 1 birdie).

Had two Dbags skip in front of me and tee off real quick as I was finishing #3. I made it to the tee as they were getting in their 2 carts (sign 1). Then had the nerve to ask if I wanted to join them (sign 2). I said, "No thanks, if you are going to skip in front of me and make me wait you must be in a big hurry, so you guys go ahead." Blank stare met by a smile on my face.

By the way, I walked the 9 holes in a little over 100 minutes.

Played Black from the new pro tees Sunday. 39-50. Talk about a blow up. Two weeks ago, it was 45-36. Played Noyac CC, managing director's course last Wednesday for a 35-45. Got problems...

Miles to go before I sleep ...
Well i'm about to make everyone feel better about their weekends ...
Admittedly, I'm not a good golfer by any means but I had the worst outing I can recall ever having ... shot a 55 on the front nine of the Tarpon Springs golf course (par is 35). Yep ... +20 through nine holes ... what a freaking mess and the f*ck all of it is that it's a super wide open course so if it hadn't have been i'm sure my total would have been even higher. :(

Maybe i'll use this thread as a log of the scores i shoot and hopefully by October i'll be shooting closer to bogey golf.

Which is your home course?
The only one I'm really qualified to play is The Bruin (and Western Row before it closed). Although these days I'll be playing more Tampa area courses.

Played out at Shadowglen Golf Course in Manor, TX. Hard track from the tips (Rating 74.2). Shot 78. Not too shabby for not having played in almost a year. Thank God my swing has never changed. Just the short game takes a beating though.

I love playing different courses around the country and since I travel quite a bit I love Arizona Courses. TPC at Scottsdale is one of my favourites only because the green fees are so cheap. The Stadium Course is my favourite and Troon North is my all time choice. Boulders is really nice and Gainey Ranch and Phoenecian GC are more of my choices.

Living in San Diego gives me a great opportunity to play Torrey Pines at about $48 for green fees. I'm able to shoot in the high 70's when I put my mind to it but have to play at least twice a week to keep that edge. Lately I'm luck to play 6 times a year.

83-86 this weekend. Played or practiced every day for a week now and it will continue through a golf trip this weekend. Need to get rid of a couple snap hook drivers per round still...

I put one of my Custom Shop Scotty Camerons on ebay if anyone is interested. It is a bad as putter. Check it out: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330579932479&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
Aaaargh! Bummed I missed this. I'm tentatively in the market for a new putter. I've been playing with the same Odyssey for about 7 years now... maybe 8? I've adapted to it (its a tad short), but I'm ready for a new one. Mostly because I'm a gear junkie.

I played the Faldo course at Wildfire at the JW Marriott in Phoenix... shot a 98 from the tips, which I usually don't play from. My driver still seems to harbor some hatred towards me - it may have actually disowned me by now. Irons were on, approach shots weren't bad, didn't focus on my putting at all (too busy being social), but my stupid driver. I probably could've dropped 6-8+ strokes just from bad drives.

Playing tomorrow am... we'll see how that goes. I'll be in freshly cleated shoes, so I got that going for me, which is nice. :tiphat:

Played from the tips at Rancho Mercado in Cave Creek. Rocked some new shoes that were very comfortable. I have no business playing from the tips despite my last two outings, but again was with a good player and the tips at RM aren't that long (there are a few really short holes)... so I went with it.

Shot a 91, and that is with 3 triples (hole 1 and 18), and probably 5 or 6 putts that rimmed out or were within a few inches. So not bad. Driver came out of nowhere... shortest drive of the day was probably around 275 and had a good number in the 320 range. Absolutely crazy... also speaks to how terrible my long wedge/short iron game is. Despite being 100-150 yards out for my second shot, I was generally on in 3 or more...

need more time on the range.

Shot my low 9 holes tonight in our weekly Fri night Mens Club event, 38, 7 pars, 2 bogeys. Missed 2 putts for birdie that stopped an inch from the cup for tap ins. Feel great about the round, but man I really wanted those 2 birdes. Only hit 4 somewhat bad shots. First tee shot was a 3w into a bunker with foot prints everywhere, still made par though. Sliced a drive on another hole, fairway still but short, bladed a gap wedge over the green trying to get a little more out of it and made bogey. Next to last hole was par 5, crushed a driver, 7i to 85yds out and into the bunker, out of the bunker and 2 putt bogey. Hopefully the good play continues, another Mens Club tourney tomorrow morning, 18 holes.

38 is my best on 9 also. I shot it twice, now if I could just keep that going through the back 9. I start to fall apart somewhere between 13 and 15. The doubles start appearing on the scorecard.

Shot an 84 on Monday at a new course. Would have been better minus the 3 doubles in a row. Most frustrating part of my day was definitely my putting which has been absolutely piss poor this year. Dropped myself 4 feet from the cup on the par three 17th and managed to three putt.

Got a new putter on the way, I'm hoping a little change of pace will help.
