Folded over with tape, do you not use LO?
I have in the past. I had some problems. I do still have some nic seco that I do like. I just have so much wlt leaf. though, I will be getting some lo leaf before to long.
I thought you might take it out of the for the mold pic but, it's all good.

So that was when i received it, i then did the "rinse" and thought to myself this is stupid. I have since separated and quarantined the nastier leaves. I don't think I'll buy a pound of wrapper from these guys again.... half of it is useless

I get it. That was what bothered me. that is, it just seemed like all of the stuff I was getting was over handled or, mis-handled. We need to be doing the final sorting and working as producers, I believe.
In this case, it seems, you can't over wet it and stick it in a bag. it's like a pile of yard leaves in the rain. it's not gonna turn out.
That's the thing about wlt, you can tell they're, for the most part, straight out of an aged bale. that's why every pound is going to be stacked a certain way. going through, leaf by leaf, you get to see a certain pattern.

I really feel like if this would have happened through Don he would not have told me to rinse it, but instead apologize for the mistake and replace the product.

I feel duped by Leaf Only...

The fact that people with that kind of business IQ--let alone lack of common decency--has a job is one of the wonders of the world.
That customer service is atrocious... any one wanna point me in the right direction for wrappers from Don? I haven't bought wrapper from him or anything from jorgè. Scared of that one pound investment.

But now it seems i will just be avoiding LO.

Now take two leaves of that Mata fina out of the bag, grab a half leaf of one of them to use as a binder/wrapper, roll up a cheroot, and smoke it right off the table. Then say thank you
That'd be awesome, if the wife wouldn't crucify me right afterwards!
I'll will take the advice though and upon opening these will cheroot the first one. If I wasn't helping the kids with homework, I'd have made one for the ridea to work in the am. Hell, maybe I should make one now for the morning...
Edit:
It's too dry to use as binder/wrapper, I should've sprayed one leaf earlier...it just crumbles now.
This will happen after work tomorrow!

Is it normal to get this much sand off mata fina?

That's after the first run through flattening them out some had already been cleaned up. This is the second time flattening/smoothing and cleaning the crevices.
I will snap another pic after a couple more leaves...
Edit added more pics:

This sure smells awesome, just wondering about how much sand I bought with my pound of leaf....

I remember the Mata fina being a bit sandy but not that bad...

That cheroot looks tasty! I bet you will be surprised at the amount of flavor you get out of one variety and priming. So good on its own it's almost a shame to blend it. Almost....
