There's a soft spot in my heart for 80's hair metal (Priest, Maiden, Dio, Dokken...) but Thrash is my favorite metal by far.

Love, love, love this:

I like the hard music.

Currently I am listenting to a mix that consists of the bands Annotations of an Autopsy, The Faceless, Arkaik, Decrepit Birth, Cynic, Between the Buried and Me, Through The Eyes of The Dead, and Obscura

I would love to hear about any new bands out there. If it has blast beats or breakdowns chances are I will like it.

Sad to say I am not a Mastadon fan. I tried to like them, but just couldn't get into it for one reason or another.

For those Death Metal Fans out there - has anyone heard the new Deicide that came out in the last couple weeks? I caught a couple tracks at my buddy's house and thought it sounded pretty good.

Alright love the oldschool hardcore Unity, Uniform choice, old straight edge stuff Gorilla Biscuits, Judge, Youth of Today Side By Side..AF, Sick of it all, Killing Time, Rest In Pieces, Insted, No For An Answer , but lately i've been listening to alot of Anthrax, Mercyful Fate, Slayer, Black Sabbath preferably the cd Born Again for some reason i think that is one of their best cd's Ozzy was awsome and so was Dio but Ian Gillian kicks ass on it it just sounds so damn evil ....and i forgot Pantera as well .......
ok so for my first post, I gotta start here... I love most of the of the first bands you posted

my list is for heavier bands I dig:
Black Flag, Killing Time, Agnostic Front, Adrenaline OD, Blood For Blood, Anvil, D.R.I., Minor Threat, Municipal Waste, No Innocent Victim, Overkill, Sick of It All, Shai Hulud, Poison Idea, M.O.D.

I used to be pretty into metal. Thrash/death/black were all my staples. Over the last year or so I've been more into electronic music. You can find some "hard" or heavy stuff that's not the run of the mill boring dubstep.

Times of Grace is amazing! I love Jesse's voice, and Adam's guitar playing. I am a metalhead. I like trance, jazz, and other styles, but I love metal. Fear factory, Chimaera, old Killswitch. For the guys who dig the real wild stuff, check out Periphery. I can't explain how amazing these dudes are. Spencer has such an amazing voice, it gives me chills. The Contortionist is awesome. The guitarist from Periphery suggested I check them out. :) Oh, Annihilator, Amon Marth, Fraking Into Eternity! Who listens to Into Eternity? One of my all time favorites. And Soilwork. They should have been the first on the list. Can't get enough of that Swedish melodic mayhem.

I actually have that Dark Tranquility album, but never actually gave it a listen. I will do so! My buddy from WA is down for a couple days and he showed me a couple amazing bands: Animals as leaders, and Scale the Summit. Both are instrumental groups, but have some awesome grooves and melodies.
