When you guys spray the KL with the DW, i assume you spray just the top, or after you spray should you shake the KL around to "mix it up" after spraying, or just the top is cool ?
I just sprayed the top worked pretty well for me
Ok cool thanks. Thats all I did too. I have 2 small trays on bottom, a coffin on middle and a small coffin on top shelves. I dont know if its overkill, but well see. I took DW out and just put KL in with the boxes that were empty, now seasoned to 65%, still empty though, and will check in 2 days where rh is. Hopefully in 2 days the KL will stabilize with the boxes in there now, and Ill add the smokes which are at 65% in both my humi's. I sprayed all containers of KL each with 5-7 sprays. Thanks for the info fellas, I shall update in couple days

I'm just a newbie with a small collection. I do not need the 165qt Extreme cooler at Costco.

I know. That's what I am afraid of. I already made trips to 3 different shops this weekend (twice to one of them) and couldn't walk out without at least one stick (or a lighter, or two Boveda packs...) from each trip. Nuts.

sounds like you are in Knoxville....

swing by the house sometime soon and Ill show you how to covert a gun cabinet to a tower humidor for the same price as the 165 qt cooler (then we'll fire up a smoke) :)

Knoxville it is (Smoky's is closest to me). Gun cabinet? Yipes. Next I'll be pondering converting my spare bedroom's walk in to a cedar lined....no...must not go there.

Reading this thread is pretty dangerous or helpful, depending on how you look at it. Read somewhere earlier in the thread about it being top heavy. Are you all experiencing the same type of problem?

I've had zero issues with top heaviness, pretty equally distributed throughout the cooler.
Agreed. I will say I have to be careful opening the door as the catch is stronger than the cooler is heavy.

I know a lot of you guys use plastic trays for the very bottom of the 150qt, as do I, but I was looking for a larger tray for the very bottom and could not find anything as wide as Id like. I have 2 coffins as well, 1 on middle shelf and 1 on top shelf, but still having lil trouble getting to 65-67. Thats also with 2 small plastic food containers on very bottom with KL. I picked up a aluminum cake pan tray to swap the 2 lil plastic trays I have on the bottom. I like how they are not "deep" and have great amount of "surface area". My question is would the Aluminum tray cause any problems inside the coolidor ?

+1.

I found that the cooler is front heavy when the door is open and I do have to be careful opening the door. So I just ran a thin guy wire from the top handle to a small eye bolt anchored in the wall.

Problem solved.

I should add that my coolider is in the basement and adding an eye bolt to the wall did nothing to diminish the aesthetics of the room. In fact, I don't think the aesthetics could be worse.

I was thinking about maybe putting some wood strips or something of that nature underneath the front to tilt the cooler back so it slants toward the rear? Makes opening the door easier as reduces the risk of things falling out?

I put down some bricks - You need to raise it a bit anyway so that the door can open without scraping on the floor. You could tilt it back a bit but too much and you'll find your cigars rolling toward to the back, too.

To reduce the risk of the cigars rolling out, I put the wire shelves in upside-down so that the lip faces up.
