• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thanks, Scarhead. No threadjack and no need for apologies. I found this to be good, helpful and interesting info.

Yeah, but I think H&K's are well over the $500 ceiling I'm looking at. :sadpace:

    Lucienne Lighters

Don't know anything about Lucienne's, but I would never buy another Colibri torch. Their soft flame/flint ignition lighters are pretty decent, though. I just clicked on your link to the Lucienne and see that it is on Tompson's website. I would shoot myself before I ever buy anything from...

Thanks to all for your input, gang, and keep 'em coming. Especially thanks for the comments re: compensated firearms. I had been wondering about the pros and cons, and I think the night vision aspect is a deal-killer for me.

    .40 Recommendations?

Now that I have my pocket carry situation squared away, I have been thinking about something bigger for home defense and more enjoyable range time than mouseguns provide. I have been looking at .40's in particular and wondered what you guys would recommend in the $400-500 range. TIA.

    What was your first Handgun?

I've been looking at those. Looks like a good gun, and surprisingly affordable for a Beretta.

    What was your first Handgun?

Browning .25. Tiny pocket pistol. Bought it in 1969 (before most of you were probably born )

    What's the best V-Cutter?

I bought a Wolf a few weeks ago. Tried it for one cut and returned it. The shape simply does not allow a cigar to be inserted far enough into the cutter for the cut to be deep enough to get a decent draw, at least not the cigars that I normally smoke. :dunno: I was going to get a Xikar on the...

Best Websites to Buy Ammo On Line?

The title says it all. Whom do you guys recommend? I am specifically looking for handgun ammo.

    Diamondback DB380

Well, I took a look at the Diamondback owners' forum, and I am not encouraged. While many people seem to have worked out their problems, there still seem to be a significant numbers of guns coming out of the factory currently that present problems that can't be resolved simply by switching to a...

    Diamondback DB380

Does anyone have any direct experience with these? It's a fairly new model from a company that has been around but is fairly new to gun manufacture. There were lots of reports of issues when the gun first came out, but I haven't seen any problems posted within the past year or so, so it looks...

    Legal Moonshine!

The last time I had some 'shine was the better part of 40 years ago, and my throat is still recovering... :barf:

    New kind of cutter?

Looks like a gimmick, and I can see tar build-up being a real problem.

    spicy cigars

Sascha, it sounds as if you have been smoking the kind of cigars that I like. So let me turn your question on its head and ask what cigars you and others have been smoking that have those characteristics? To me, most Fuentes usually fit that bill.

    .38 Ammo Recommendations?

I'm not sure how safe it would be to use a +P in the alloy one. Are Glasers legal in most states? I'm mostly concerned with DE, LA and PA.

    Best Cutters?

Once you get to the group of cutters that are generally acknowledged as among the best (Palio, Xikar, SAK, etc.), the best cutter is the one that feels best in your hand. All 3 of the ones I just mentioned feel and work very differently from each other. Try to use them and then make a choice.
