• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Cigar Caddy for long term storage?

Yup, what he said. I have had to do that for months at at time, with no problems. Make sure both Bovedas are the same RH and that temperatures will remain in a safe range. If the area where you are storing the caddy is going to get hot, leave it in a refrigerator. Just give it time to...

    .38 Ammo Recommendations?

What ammo do you guys recommend for use in a snub-nose .38 special aluminum alloy gun for self-defense? And how about for the same type of gun but steel construction? TIA.

    Maybe it's just me....

There is a HUGE difference between the original release (and early) Edges and what you can buy today. Doesn't matter which wrapper. They are all just a pale shadow of their former selves... :shame:

    Do you pocket carry?

I'm exclusively pocket carry. Kel-tec P3AT (sorry Ron, couldn't find any .32's locally and didn't want to wait) in a no-name leather pocket holster with a square front to prevent "printing" on the pocket. I carry only when I am out at night, but never when I plan to have any more alcohol than...

Post your blade(s)?! I am interested in knowing what is everybody's EDC.

Swiss Army knife with cigar scissors and corkscrew. All my needs in one. :applause:

    60 ring gauge Herf Tube

I'd buy a couple of 60's. I agree that the 70, or at least 66, might not be a bad idea...

What's the most you smoked in one day?

5 or 6 Churchills and Double Coronas. After 4, my tongue tends to start feeling like the bottom of a bird cage. With a lot of birds. :barf: Nonetheless, I do this fairly regularly. :cbig:

    Best Cutters?

I just reread this thread from the beginning (the quote above), so I thought I'd respond directly to it. Before you toss your Colibri (or any cutter) when it seems to get dull, try this: Take a Q-tip, dip it in alcohol, and rub the cutting edges of the blades. Then let it dry, and give it a...

    Remington Silvertip Question

I have a Colt Agent (a snub-nosed, alloy-frame .38 with a Parkerized finish, a variation of the Colt Cobra). I understand that you should not use +P ammo in it because of the alloy construction. However, some folks have told me that Remington Silvertip +P's actually aren't truly +P's and...

My UZI Weighs a Ton (MUWT)

In this case, someone who doesn't have a vested interest in the sales results of the review. :cbig: Thanks for the info, folks.

My UZI Weighs a Ton (MUWT)

So has ANYbody tried these puppies? At $10 or so a stick, I want to hear come comments from real cigar smokers before I run out and place an order. Enquiring minds want to know...

How many of you have a S.T. Dupont lighter

Dirty little secret of mine: The X-tend fits perfectly in the Xikar case for their Executive lighter.

    Blazer Lighters

I use the CG-001. Their warranty and customer service suck big time. Their lighters used to be great. Then they went through a period when their lighters seemed to crap out within a year or so for everyone I know who was using them. Over the last year or so, quality controls seem to have...

    Storage in Ziploc

As others have said, Ziplok + Boveda is fine. But as also has been suggested, a Tupperware container would be only marginally more expensive, but would provide substantially more protection. FWIW.

    So what'cha readin'???

Try it again on On Demand, if you're inclined. The episodes generally kept getting better and better, and the last two were great!

    So what'cha readin'???

I watched the first season on HBO, which was great. How are the books, and how is the author's writing style?

    So what'cha readin'???

Lovecraft still rocks, no matter how many years later. Same thing with Bierce.

    So what'cha readin'???

I love Sanford's Prey series, too. Looks like I have to catch up. Right now, I'm reading Jonathan Franzen's Strong Motion. I like Franzen a lot, having read the Corrections and Freedom, so far. I just finished Deception by Jonathan Kellerman, one of the Alex Delaware novels (also a good...
