• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

    Thoughts on Fumadores?

That's about right. They also benefit from some aging if you would like them t smooth out a bit.

    torch lighter on international flights

Actually, about $3-4. You can usually find them at Wal-Mart, some large chain drugstores like Walgreen's or CVS, and on line. Here is a link to a thread about them: http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=54918

    torch lighter on international flights

I have an OtterBox case that was TSA approved and designed to hold Zippos before it became OK to carry Zippos on the plane. It is the perfect size to hold a Ronson Jetlite, and I pack it in my checked luggage. The Jetlites are cheap enough that I don't care if security at some airport...

What not to have while smoking

Anything with a lot of bite, e.g. Mexican food, hot sausage, etc. Totally blows out my taste buds for hours.

    So what'cha readin'???

I have a couple of books going at any given time, but the one I am most focused on right now is "Googled: The End of the World as We Know It." I recommend it highly.

    Biggest nicotine bomb

It doesn't happen often, but the last one to do it to me was a Tatuaje HCS (Holt's house brand). :barf:

    Zippo Lighter

Actually, just about everything you read says you shouldn't really let any part of the flame touch the cigar --- just hold the cigar above the flame so that it gets lit by the heat, not the flame. Of course, I don't know anyone who does that, at least on a regular basis, but that's what the...

    Zippo Lighter

Yes. I had one, and I really liked it. I used it for less than a year, and then it literally fell apart. I would probably by another, but I just never got around to it. My experience with the Z-Plus is that it works great, but craps out after about 2 years. But all of these are pretty...

    Zippo Lighter

I use all of the above. I have tried some back-to-back comparisons of butane v. lighter fluid. I cannot detect a difference in flavor. You can do two things to minimize any potential impact of using a fluid-based lighter: 1) let the flame burn for a second or two before lighting the cigar...

    Kydex v. Leather Holsters?

My new Kydex Recluse Front Pocket holster arrived last night. I pulled my new LCP out of the deSantis Super Fly she was living in and moved her to her new home. As of now, I have only a couple of hours of experience with the Kydex Recluse, but here are my initial impressions: 1. The Kydex...

    Kydex v. Leather Holsters?

I ordered the Recluse front pocket holster in Kydex. I'll let you guys know how I like it after I get to try it out for a while. The DeSantis Super Fly that I am currently using is quite decent, but it's a bit bulky and soft.

    Kydex v. Leather Holsters?

Is Kydex more rigid than leather? It looks like it. Is it lighter?

    Kydex v. Leather Holsters?

I'm thinking of getting a Recluse & I'm trying to figure out which material is "better" overall for pocket carry of a Ruger LCP.

    Kydex v. Leather Holsters?

I have noticed that some holster makers offer the same holster in either Kydex or leather, with a slightly lower price for the Kydex. Does anyone have any experience with both materials that would be informative? I am interested in in-pocket holsters only. Thanks! :gangfire:

    First Handgun Purchase

I saw the pink lady in the gun case when I was buying my Kel-Tec and instantly took a photo with my cell phone and emailed it to my wife. She LOVED it! :starrylov
