    Purging

    The trick I do, is to continuously blow into the cigar while pulling air in through my nose at the same time, that way I don't have to relight the end once the flame is going. Watch out if yo have a beard or mustache, this is a good way to lose one.

    How far down...

    I purge with around two inches left and smoke it down to a 1/4 of an inch. Unless it is something I didn't end up liking or there is something else wrong with it, then I would have already started another cigar long before.

    My Thinkpad is almost always plugged in, but when it was new IBM recommended that the battery be conditioned. This meant running it completely empty and charging it back up to a full charge several times.
