  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Actually we first look to the merchant who took the credit card to pay any disputed charges if they are proven. If that fails we go to the processors of the card. Authorize.net is an online processor and would take the hit if the charge went through. Authorize.net is one of the largest "virtual" processor.
Funny how they say poopal processes thier CC
s when they have the seal of authorize.net. Lost all confidence in each seal they have listed. In fact I will try and contact the vendor of each seal tomorrow and see if they will look into it as it directly affects thier reputation.

Wow, after I pointed out that they had authorized.net on their website I went there today to get contact information for authorized.net and the seal is no longer there....hmmm

Reported to ****** fraud unit and McAfee fraud department.

Its one thing to be hacked, its another to have verified secure logos on your website and stealing the CC info

I ended up canceling my card. If they made 1 fraudulent charge, it seems likely that more are to follow. Amex is going to refund the difference, but it's a pain to have to deal with this. I won't be using shnoop again.

So far, so good here. Lighters worth what I paid and no unauthorized charges. Checking couple times a day, though. Thanks for the heads-up and the updates.

I got hit by them last week. Luckily my bank didn't allow the charges and blocked my card. On the other hand I couldn't eat lunch cause my card was blocked.

They tried to charge $750 in Finland and $500 in Sweden.

Well... at least one good experience here.

Got all my lighters (24) and they all worked, they were also packed with paper and stuff so they didn't bounce around. No weird charges on my end yet.

happy for ya bro! Mine are all scuffed up, and although I had the intent of selling them as new items to make a little cash, I still definitely got what I paid for. Can't beat a lighter for $1.42, but I'd say it's not worth what some of you guys are going through with the CCs...

As far as shopping on their site in the future, I suppose you'd be good to go if you just use PlayPal to pay with your card you should be good. You can add a credit card and make your bank acct the secondary method of payment. Then, you're still paying with your card but it's processing through playpal, not the website.

Yeah I'm going to make a note to use my poopot account whenever ordering from sites I don't know in the future.

Got the lighters Saturday and my credit card company blocked overseas charges to my VISA card on Sunday. Got Shnooped - never been across the ocean, and this is another reason not to go.
My accounts are blocked, getting new card. Stupidness. I should have known better.

In theory that's a good plan, but for anyone with a Poopal balance it doesn't work like that. Your payment automatically comes from your balance first, then your other payment methods. They do this to deter credit card charge backs. I pretty much always have a balance so I don't get that added security of using a credit card, then again I don't pay any fees when sending money to people because I am using my balance.

god damn. And Smelvis, read a couple of my posts above... Shnoop says they use Poopal for all of their transactions and have let them know.

Okay correction, I just finished opening today's stuff and I got all my lighters and I think all that were donated, I used a card on Papoo so I doubt I have to worry about what you guy's are going through.

Good Luck and I hope it stops soon!!
