I do not save the band unless I really liked the smoke, and I want to investigate/buy more.

Interesting note:
If you have draw issues, try removing the band. Sometimes humidity can expand the cigar all around the band, in effect making the band constrict the air flow. Removing the band frees up the flow

I usually leave it on till the ash gets close unless it's a rather large band or has multiple bands.

I generally leave it on until it will come off easily to avoid damaging the wrapper. And the only ones I keep are from smokes that are new to me that I like and want more of. I'll put them in the humi, and buy more of the bands I've saved.

After firing it up, I remove it...I have a couple of cigar boxes full of wrappers. Don't know why I am saving them, but I do...

Depends on the cigar... some cigars the band is so nice I just can't bear to take it off. Sometimes the band is nice but I feel like smoking it "naked." I love the way a lonsdale looks with no band on. Probably the minimalist in me.

It also has a cool factor when you're in public... people will wonder "hmm wonder what he's smoking." Kind of like stealth wealth if you will. It says "Too damn cool to show off, I smoke the best but don't flaunt it" and add a little swagger to pull it all off. :ccool:

Leave them on until they are in danger of burning. I don't keep bands, but like them on so my fingers don't stick to the wrapper.

Typically I leave it on til maybe an inch or less close to the band. Not for any particular reason other than aesthetics to me.

I've damaged one wrapper by trying to take it off before I smoke the cigar. One is plenty, and thus I smoke the cigar to 1/2" off the band, and then remove it, using the heat of the smoke to loosen the glue.

I find a lot of bands are on there pretty tight. The head from smoking helps loosen them up a little. Plust I really don't care if you see what I'm smoking.

Ive had quite a few that have been damaged by too much glue on the band.
So I wait for ti to heat up a bit.

So how do you smoke your cigars? Band ON or OFF? Personally I leave it on until it is in danger of being burnt. Please give a reson for your vote. My ereason is that i collect my bands, and don't want then to tear, so I hope that the heat will loosen the glue. I'm also worried about damaging the wrappper.
That's pretty much it for me as well.
