Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
Never too late to share a picture of a nice fish.I’m super late to the party here but figured I’d post my first steelhead since it’s that time of year again (arm for size reference) View attachment 105138

Sorry for the terrible pic, but here is a
Nice channel cat my granddaughter and I caught a couple of years ago. I would set the hook and then let her reel them in, while I made sure she didn't lose my rod and get pulled it. It was fun seeing her discover her inner strength and determination for the first time.
We caught 4 of these in 35 minutes and then the bite stopped.
Gorgeous fish, I bet that was a rush!View attachment 110283 View attachment 110282 Caught my first fish on the fly rod today. The East side of Cleveland has some surprisingly nice trout streams.
Those are some nice rainbows @MikeZ37 ! Did you eat them for dinner?
I also caught my first fish of 2018 today...... Hit my bag limit in about 4 hours.

That’s a good haul right there! And no I only catch and release. Wouldn’t recommend eating a thing that swims in the greater Cleveland area haha. But yes they both put up a great fight.Gorgeous fish, I bet that was a rush!
The creek I was fishing was maybe 40 feet across at its widest. Deffinitely nothing like you west coast guys. When I lived in Sacramento we had both Samon & Steelhead run on the American River. Big time fishing opportunities.

Grand? If so the river will be open clear to Mantua soon when they bypass the last dams. Also hit painsville sometime for a nice east spot. And you can eat them bro. Just don't eat the old or oxygen deprived ones (the meat will be a green or even black and stink to high hell). The creek I was fishing was maybe 40 feet across at its widest. Euclid actually. Never made it out to the grand. I usually fish the rocky river but it’s been too high and muddy lately.Grand?
