BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Thanks again, BOTL is spot on everything but the make up a lie or fudge where they came from. I do not want to argue that idea, just not what I believe is right, will just make it more wrong. Thank you especially for the PM's I have received from several members and the IM's as well. Some very good stuff there as well, that took extra time to send the "private message", which for me, anything that comes to me stays only with me.
I have sold some things off recently and from the posts, may need to do some more. I really do mean the credit card is manageable, given several months of no more buying shall be gone. I am old enough to see it is becoming unmanageable and that the hiding of the paper trail is a sign I have a problem that need to be fixed. One that needs to be addressed very soon. And one that if not will bring down the Headbanger estate. I was going to come clean tonight, but too many more important things on the wife side about her family came up. So I was there for her and just listened.
I am not a religious person, but think I will prey for guidance and keep an open mind for the answers. Sometimes we get the answers or know the answers already. What we do with it is how we are ultimately judged.

Without sounding mushy I know many of us including myself have grown to love you. I know you will do the right thing for your marriage even though it means some initial pain. We have all been there in some fashion.

Doc's right...that "B" in BOTL stands for BROTHERS. At the risk of getting all warm and fuzzy, there's a bond between folks like us who gather on a message board, brought together by our common interests. We soon get to know each other's online personnas and the bond tightens. Cigar smoking is by its very nature ritualistic, so we quickly embrace each other.
Unfortunately, cigars can sometimes create a culture that is defined by rampant buying / collecting and this can all too quickly consume a man. Throw in a barrage of "specials" and we are quickly toasted! Many of us have been there and that's why we can empathize with Steve.
I'm blown away by Steve's courage in coming to us for advice, and I'm heartened by his observation that we really know the answers already, it's how we act on them that matters. We should all be so wise.

The simple solution to this is to sell off some of your stock. The savings account goes back up, the collection becomes more of a size you can take home without too much shit, you pay off the credit cards and get your wife something nice for dealing with you.
You know it is wrong and have put a hault to it. By selling it off you've fixed part of the financial issue. You then have to fix your deceit to your wife.
