    With a heavy heart...

E posted this and it struck me hard and I thought it worth sharing the history of "cigaring". A number of years ago, I had to drive somewhere on a business trip and as I tend to do, I have a smoke or 3 on my road trips. This particular trip home, I had to unexpectedly pick my young son up as I...

    With a heavy heart...

Ara was put to rest today and I am happy that a couple of our BOTL’s were able to make it to the services to represent us. Tonight, I will smoke a few for him and have a drink of his favorite single malt, Oban. Missing you already bro.

    Hard Cider Yeast

I agree with NCost's process. Let it ferment, rack, cold crash and then resweeten it once racked off the yeast. A small dose of potassium sorbate to stop any new yeast multiplication and should preventp any further fermentation (assuming there's some yeast in suspension...don't want them...

    Real or fake?

Educate yourself on what everything should look like, the triple cap should not be your only indicator by any means. This is not a retailer, just an informational site, so should be ok to post here, but this is a great, great authority on that topic. www.cubancigarwebsite.com

    Spot The Fake

Actually, this is a tough one. The lines and spacing look correct on the right. But the PARTAGAS font look correct on the left (and incorrect on the right). What I see, is the G in Partagas is almost completely beneath the E of Serie per the cuban site. That matches the stick on the left...

    Spot The Fake

Left looks proper to me. I'm looking at the PARTAGAS font and spacing compared to "the bible". http://www.cubancigarwebsite.com/brand.aspx?brand=Partag|as#Serie_D_No.4

+3 on Beersmith. The cool thing now is that they have cloud storage for recipes and people can share recipes through it.

    In Praise of Ronson

I just spent a total of 2 minutes doing both of those mods to my Ronson and it's even more awesomer now. I was having trouble with mine lighting consistently, but when it would light, I loved it. Now, it's firing like clockwork. Thanks for the link Monsterdg.

    DLD. Who knew?

And AB, the black hole necromancer is just coffee. There is no alcohol in it. It was brewed with dark matter coffee and aged in barrels. The lines to get it were worse than just about anything else. I didn't even bother trying even though I wanted to get some of the coffee.

    DLD. Who knew?

He made a small batch of one offs to hand out at the party. There was never any intent of distributing or mass manufacturing of it. He was just having some fun.

    Cigar lounges in Indianapolis?

^This I smoked there about a month ago, great bar, great bourbon selection...Probably 40-50 people in there smoking at the time and you never know it was a smoking bar. Hands down, the best filtration environment I've been in. I didn't love the overall humidor selection (it's a Davidoff...
